One might expect the Hebrides Islands to be insulated and preserving its culture but no. The Isle of Skye has been selected as a place to seed "migrants". (Maybe partly because Trump's mother is from there? To "rub his face in diversity"?) The church there especially is funding this. The (female) vicar misunderstood an Old Testament Bible verse which she thought meant that strangers enrich nations. When it actually was about foreign nations being prophesied to lay tribute to that place in the near east with riches, servants, cattle etc. Anyway, the Isle of Skye has been seeded and the natives will soon be a minority.

Argentina literally exists thanks to Spanish colonialism. I used to live in Spain. They do have quite an amnesia about their own colonialism. That hypocrisy extends to their white European colonists such as in Argentina. Their whole national psyche is to always whinge and blame Anglo-Saxon colonialism ... for everything bad - as if they never partook in this whole colonialism thing. They do have bit of an obsession with England I would say.

Hiperborea was described by Plato in similar traits as Atlantis which might suggest one actual historical place. More, the evidence shows that place named Budziak in Northwestern Black Sea region is a source of the Greek calque of the Atlantis. Even by meaning of name. A”is negating “tl” means bottom. Together reads no-bottom or abyss. So the place has been named after catastrophic event which is went under the water. There is evidence suggesting Great Flood happened in Black Sea northern coast in the place called Nisir ( Epic of Gilgamesh) which derived from PIE *ni- that remain in the base of the name Nistru ( Dniester) in Northwestern Black Sea region.

Grand to see you in Lerwick of all places. A whole world unto itself. The howling of the ancient sea never quite letting up no matter how far inland you go. A mysterious call echoes in the core of us, each and all (be we Gael, Saxon, or Norse), a call seeming to come the ends of the earth -- yet deep in the soil. Roots call to roots, in such places. Hope to live on Shetland or the Orkneys part of the year, some day, myself. Lovely series, looks like a lot of work well done. Aubrey Manning did a lovely documentary back in the early 2000s about the brochs. Seldom mentioned these days by the BBC, so keep it up!

That’s because it started in Europe (specifically Germany) and traveled outwards to become dominant as everyone wanted to emulate Europe. It’s native to Europe as part of larger modernist movements and became prominent after the World Wars destroyed all the older stuff because it was easier to mass produce (all those details on traditional buildings are VERY expensive) and as part of the greater modernist movement to build a new idealized society more based in logic (form follows function). It has nothing to do with multiculturalism which came decades later. If you love your culture actually take the time to learn about it’s artistic and architectural history.
