Disabled and Proud is the show brought to you by top adaptive athlete Brooke Millhouse and an awesome disabled guest speaking about their own disability. This week we are joined by Wesley Hamilton, founder of Disabled But Not Really, as we explore the social, mental and physical challenges we face.
Wes has spent the past several years being recognised as a role-model in the Crossfit Community, and an official CNN Hero in 2021, believing that what paralysed him also breathed life into him. The Disabled But Not Really Foundation instills a transformative mindset in those with disabilities, helping them gain the courage they need in life. There is beauty in disability; it is not to be feared, gawked at, pitied, but to be celebrated.
Wes is a vibrant example of what it means to be disabled… but not really.
