Spokane, WA's British-style brass band prides itself on being a true community ensemble. The vast majority of our ranks are people with careers in completely separate fields who simply play for the love of playing. Occasionally, a high school or college-age player will join to broaden their musical experience. Last season, I asked my friend Tommy, at that point a senior in high school, to join the cornet section. He took to it very quickly and matured immensely as a cornetist over the course of the season. His hard work culminated in this season finale performance of Leo Delibes' "Flower Duet." Enjoy!
