I did this for the looper on the previous version of this pedal, it makes a huge difference to the usability. I also have a separate single button looper, I have added individual buttons for start, stop, undo to this pedal although to do that I had to use a microprocessor to simulate clicking the buttons multiple times or pressing and holding.

Yes it sure does make a difference. I still prefer my boss RC1 though. Still playing with the pedal board option to get used to it. Trying to build some “ambient” sound patches.

There isn’t much more to it. You solder wires to the terminals on the circuit board and also to the switches. Polarity is not an issue because all you’re doing is shorting the connection with the switch. That’s it.

Great mod man! I wonder if you could show us how you do it. Planning to add a single footswitch for the STOMP/MODE
@HalBrolund
Жыл бұрын
It’s pretty self explanatory. You simply solder a wire to each side of the circles on the circuit board and the other end to a momentary switch. Polarity isn’t an issue because all you need to do is create a short (when the switch is pressed) to activate the effect.

Did you use momentary or latching switches? Would be great if you could show us a step by step or wiring diagram. Thanks 👍
@HalBrolund
Жыл бұрын
It’s just momentary switches. There isn’t much to it. If you look at the inside you’ll see circles with solder points on each side. Those are the buttons. Simply solder a wire to each of those and put a momentary switch on the other end. No need to worry about polarity. Once the switch is pressed it activates the button. Easy.

I'm thinking if I could just run 2 wires from the delay switch to 1/4 output on the zoom to a 1/4 input on the box with a switch. Would that work? Also it doesn't matter which wire gets connected?
@HalBrolund
Жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand your question fully. It doesn’t matter which polarity the wires are connected. Simply connect each one of the solder points on each side of the circle to a momentary switch. If you’re asking can you use a 1/4 cable and jack then I’d say yes, if you only want to create outboard control of one switch.

@@HalBrolund yes I want to put in another 1/4 inch output jack into the zoom. Have the footswitch turn effect on or off
@HalBrolund

The way the zoom works, you could select an individual effect (say position 5) and then use that position as your optional effect. Yes.

Is it not easer to sent midi Cc commands or SYSEX? With any android device like smartphone or tablet... Cost is zero. I beleivie it is possible..

The issue is having the ability to use patch mode while you’re playing. Adding or removing an effect from a chain. It’s not possible to connect your smart phone and change a setting while you’re in the middle of a solo or performing a song. You need foot control. 👍🏻

@@HalBrolund I think he meant this when mentioning Sysex kzitem.info/news/bejne/mY6G32x3r35yY6Q I was about to hack one for a customer the same way as you did. But I recently discovered the Sysex MIDI method
@HalBrolund
Жыл бұрын
@@jungleb yes I saw that method as well. The cost for my entire mod was under $30 and required no midi programming. There is no doubt that with a midi receiver and footswitch ($$$) you could achieve the same thing. It will cost a lot more though.

can we add led indicators too?
@HalBrolund
9 ай бұрын
I’m sure you could if you wanted to figure out a power circuit for it. The Zoom unit itself has indicators so I didn’t see the need for adding additional indicators I just labeled the switches to correspond with the zoom unit.

Do You have an idea how to shortcut process key for tuner
@HalBrolund
Жыл бұрын
Not really but it might be as easy as just attaching a single momentary switch to each of the footswitches. Then when pressed it would trigger the processor to switch to tuner mode. For me, the pedal is right there so it’s easy to just continue to step on both switches to make that happen. Let me know if you try it.
