After last week's taste of what is on offer at Monduran dam, I just had to go back!!
The forecast looked ok but in reality, it was not great.Strong winds form the north east, cloudy with the odd shower on the afternoon we got there. Then overnight the wind dropped and slowly started to shower frequently. Durning the morning the wind picked up from the north west and the showers moved on.
Despite the weather the fish were biting and that's the main thing!
We both picked up a couple small fish early in the afternoon we got there and then moved to an open point in very strong winds to target a big fish. It look a while but I managed on e big one on a Molix 140 shad about 3-4pm. That was sadly our last bite for the day and with the fish moving off the points and the string winds we called it early and set up in a bay out of the wind for the night.
The next morning was not so nice ass the wind had died but the rain had moved in big time. The fish seemed to like these conditions and we had a few hours of good fishing with a few landed and plenty lost as they were bitting a bit funny. These were all small fish but we were having fun and there was some bigger fish mixed in the area.
This Damien not having caught a big fish, we decided to change locations for last hour or so before we needed to head off. Fishing an area where there were less but bigger fish. Damien persisted with the Lucky Craft Pointer and finally got a big eat. Unfortunately, with handle come off his reel making for a funny but stressful fight around the trees. Luck was on our side and we got the fish in which was awesome!
End score was 8 fish landed and almost as many lost, few hours fishing in the arvo and few hours till 10:30 the next morning. Very little fishing at night as we both don't enjoy it as much and got enough in the light to be happy.
