Thanks Darren. Great video as usual. Going to miss your Bus videos of course but looking forward to the 777. Absolutely agree on X-Plane. What a great resource!

Seems like the prudent thing to do is land in Russia. Passenger and Crew safety is number 1; facing 900 miles with 1 engine seems like too much of a risk. Hopefully this scenario never presents, but if it does you are well trained for it. Thanks for sharing :)

@@geekontheflightdeck Flight Factor is also releasing a version 2 of the 777 in x plane. It’s probably days away from release now. It looks pretty good to me. Personally, I’m gonna wait for the PMDG. I’m an MSFS guy

Where is your channel headed? because I enjoyed this video analysis of this situation with your personal experience. You would do well with this kind of topic. True there are several channels doing this but I find your explanation simple and to the point for the average Joe like me who would not grasp complicated aviation vocabulary. Many pilot KZitemrs who address this kind of topic often leave me far more confused than informed. Anyway... I thought I would mention this to you. Greetings from Tulsa Oklahoma, hope to meet you one day.

This is what I do. Tell it like it is. No glamorizing. I have a ton of videos on TikTok but KZitem, Facebook and Instagram still be my platform going forwards.

Russia changed to feet in both the flight levels and below transition level several years ago. Simply asking for local QNH will give you the required respective altitude in feet. No need for meters conversion like in China.

Why does the chart for UHPP list matters to this day for all data?
@jtr8842
2 ай бұрын
It's a throw back to the old days and Russian operators using QFE still use meters. Check out Jepp pubs/eastern Europe/Asia - Eastern Europe Airway manual. Then under air traffic control- state rules and procedures Eastern Europe - Russia-Rules and procedures. Scroll to atimetry section and it states- altitudes will be given in feet when using QNH and meters when using QFE. If you ask for QNH they will provide altitudes in feet. The UHPP chart below the missed approach section says QNH is on request so if you ask for QNH feet alts will be provided. Russia AIC 08/19 also states the change over date. Hope that helps.

For an actual emergency we would still land there. Discussed this flying to Japan this weekend
