I too felt pretty bad for the first few hours, 20 minutes after the nurse showed up and gave me the Blossomaide I felt a million times better. In fact I felt almost normal, my wife said I looked like a different person after. I ran into the nurse coming out of another room a couple hours later and gave her a big hug and told her I loved her LOL. The only bad pain I had after that was in my feet and calves, but that was from walking so far that night. Everyone said to walk every hour or two and that you can't walk too much. So I got up and walked half a mile or more up and down the hall in my socks, I left a cup of ice on the window at one end and ate an ice chip every "lap". Ended up walking more than six miles that night and my legs and feet really paid for it the next couple days. LOL. If you do this WEAR SHOES, I wore out my surgery socks...

Toreador helped that day and then the pain just never came back and you said nothing else. Did it just stopped after a while? I am not someone who sits on my phone and watches KZitem all day long video after video I just happened to see you on here and I have had vsg 9 years ago started at 218 lb at all the tests that I mentioned that you never had to find out if there was some reason I should not have the surgery

So why did they not do the CAT scan? Is everything okay? That’s bad they didn’t follow directions, what if something went wrong. Also you’re so beautiful and I hope that you can continue to make video about your journey! Thanks!

Oh, I'm sorry I didn't explain about the CAT scan and why. The emergency room doctor ordered a long list of labs, chest xray, and ekg. They all came back great. They said it must have been from the hernia and my chronic neck pain. She gave me muscle relaxers and my primary gave me extra oxycodone. I didn't end up using them. The pain is very mild or nothing now. So many things happened in those 2 weeks! I will record my video on weeks 2-6 tomorrow and get it uploaded. Thanks for watching and for the sweet comment! 🤩

My surgery was 9 years ago April 13th in New York I started at 213 lb went down to 128 lbs this is by no means an easy fix for weight loss. You have to work hard at it and maintaining it I went back up to 160 just this past year but I am now back down to 140 through hard hard work and I plan to get myself back down to that 128 and even a little smaller I'm 60 years old and it's not an easy thing I had a car accident last. You have to work hard at it and maintaining it I went back up to 160 just this past year but I am now back down to 140 through hard hard work and I plan to get myself back down to that 128 and even a little smaller I'm 60 years old and it's not an easy thing I had a car accident on Halloween 3 years ago that put me a lot less mobile and also the winters here in Michigan are not good so all my walking and everything else I've done all the five years I've lived here were put to rest after the accident but I am just now joining a gym here in town it was closed for the whole pandemic. A brand new gym 24 hours I love it and I am also moving into a little house this week from living with someone else so I'm getting a lot of movement in my body and my diet is much better in the new house because I live with an 89 year old man who I was helping out for a while and he's also moving so a little house where all the food in that house will be just mine so all the trigger foods that are in this house will not be here. Very hard not to eat all the things that are around you. Everybody thinks it's easy but when everything around you is crap it's very easy to end up picking at it little by little by little. He's in a couple of cookies a day can cause a bariatric patients to not lose weight. This way nothing in the house will not be mine unless grandchildren come over but they're moving to Wisconsin in August sorry I'm rambling it's just good to have someone fairly new to this leave. If you need any advice from me or anyone else I know a lot of people who are years out from surgery who can tell you how things are going for them and give you advice from people who have had the surgery in places that have been very very very well cared for before and since. I still see a bariatric once every couple of months just to check in and be weighed and have blood work because it's still covered by my insurance for life

So how much weight would you have had to gain to get the surgery covered by your own insurance? Since you didn't wait anyway. Plus you didn't have to go through all the testing that should be done before you get this surgery? I had to get Cardiology testing and stress test and such. I had to get a full physical. I had to get psychological clearance to make sure I can mentally handle such a serious life change oh, I had to see the nutritionist twice I had to go to a seminar for 3 hours with others who were considering this to learn about the three different surgeries they offered. I am shocked that the place you had this done did not do any of this for your safety and your mental safety as well

The purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver but it is also to get you in the habit of eating smaller portions and my pre-op diet was almost all protein shakes and one meal so that you are used to drinking your meals for a short. Before surgery

I am sorry that you were in so much pain I also had a hiatal hernia or so they say I'm not sure because every single person that I know that has had this surgery has been told they had a hiatal hernia that was repaired and I found that to be strange I mean thousands of people. And I have one now 9 years later? I am lucky though I had almost no pain whatsoever I was up and walking as soon as I woke up and I got up and walked around the hospital every hour because of course they tell you to walk as much as you can. My insurance did allow for 2 days in the hospital if I wanted it. So I took it because my job is was taking care of a very heavy handicapped woman who I didn't lift I just helped her to get up and stand when I had to wash her and help her get onto her little motorized wheelchair. But I lived in her home so when I went back home I was instantly working but light-duty as her daughter came and helped for the first two weeks but no pain really at all other than gas

Thank you for the replies and your concern. I guess I wasn't clear or didn't include all of the pre testing I had to do. The place I went had me complete all of that testing to make sure I was healthy and ready. They don't skip anything.

@@Jennyvsg good I'm glad you had all that testing I don't think you mentioned it at all period and yes more big is an end said but causes much less difficulty and they would not give it to me until my ulcers would were completely gone period so for and I have much less pain when I take it and they take it with a ton of water from by the end of the day period. It has been a God sent to me I know it has side effects period I am starting physical therapy again in July and hope to only take it as needed at some point and I also will have most likely a hep replacement within the next few years period I do not want steroid shots in my back or my hip no matter what they say that that will help the pain I will not do it. I am not a fan of any type of needle. I have dental issues that are causing pain in both of my ears and have appointments set up in a few months and will most likely ask my insurance to send me somewhere different where I can be sedated because my anxiety and pain level at a dental level is unbearable for me

That is a lot of oxy for sure. It is very addictive I sure hope you're not taking it anymore. Bariatric patients are not supposed to be taking any type of NSAIDs my doctor prescribed me something called Mobic which is non-narcotic I take it once a day every day for serious arthritis that I've had in my back for years. And a pain in my hip and leg from an accident that I had at the child being hit by a school bus.
@Jennyvsg

Im so sorry you have chronic pain from your injury. I hardly took any of the extra bottle of oxy they gave me. I was in so much pain at first that I truly needed it. Yes, oxy is very addictive. I'm no longer taking any. My surgeon advised I may take nsaids rarely. Its the only thing that works for some pain I get (chronic neck pain, occasional complex hemiplegic migraine). Mobic is also an nsaid. The biggest concern with nsaid would be developing a bleeding ulcer in our tiny stomachs. I would personally not be taking it daily, but you also have chronic pain. So I understand the risk/ benefit decision.
