Hello Vanessa, I was looking with particular interest at your videos recently and I am following your story with hope and positive wishes for you. My family has also a history of colon cancer diseases and I would like leave a couple of good advices for you. I am not sure how much will these advices contribute to keep the cancer far from coming back, but it will definitely help a lot. 1) Once you have finished this chemos, start to avoid buying pre-cooked food or with preservatives, try to make food by yourself. Both I and my father are Italians and we love cooking. So we make our biscuits and jam tarts for breakfast, our lunch and dinner. All my gastro disorders ended when I started to do homemade food. 2) increase the amount of legumes in your diet. Lentils, chickpeas, white beans, green peas, at least 1 time a week. 3) avoid tea, caffeine and milk for your breakfast, replace it with "Barley Coffee". Barley is famous for its regenerative natural properties and protective of the intestinal mucosa. 4) Last but not least, try to do sport everyday, even just 30mins a day, but do it always. This is a Must for your general health and endorphins replacement. The best sports I would recommend is swimming. If you can alternate swimming 1 day and slow running another day. You can rest on Sunday. These are my 4 big suggestions to add into your life style. Oh, I forgot the last one: Spend more time close to Wild Nature and fresh air🌲🍂🍁🏕🌄🌅

By far the kindest way someone has given me advice. 💗 yes I have completely changed my diet and I can’t eat raw fruits or vegetables because of my ileostomy currently. 😩 but once I get it reversed I will definitely go back to eating lots of greens again. I have children and a dog lol 😂 I’m running 🏃♀️ all the darn time. Thank you 🙏🏼

@@VanessaLPZ1 also when the ileostomy is reversed, eating raw vegetables is not possible anymore. I used to eat only raw before my cancerdiagnose and now I don't digest it anymore, always diarrhia when I eat raw. Now I do all my vegetables in the wok and that is perfect to avoid problems with your bowel. Best is to eat low-residue food, but that also means that it is the less healthier food, like white rice, white bread, pasta...Also no milk. But you have to, otherwise you can have no normal life and bound on the toilet.
@Truth1561
3 жыл бұрын
@@ineshadr9070 it depends entirely on how much of the colon and which part of the colon is removed. I’m in a large support group and several of the members eat a complete,y raw plant based diet after this surgery. I have no colon at all but have an internal J-pouch- I struggle to digest even cooked veg and have gained a lot of weight due to my dietary restrictions. Most of my friends in the group however have returned to their previous diet or have tried to adopt a healthier one however.
@ineshadr9070
3 жыл бұрын
@@Truth1561 Yes, that's true, it depends on which part is removed. I had a lower anterior resection, and I tought Vanessa also had that done and most of the people who have a LAR , I hear from them, have many difficulties after the ileostomy is removed and some even asked to put back the ileostomy. I hope for Vanessa she has the least problems after her ileostomy is removed because it is a daily worry and stress.

I am having some issues after my radiation and chemo, too, and it put a damper on my usual happy-go-lucky self. I needed some 'quiet time' recently. But, I'm getting better. I'm jealous of how neat your port incision is. Mine was done not very well and constantly bothers me (9 months now), and to think I have at least another year of it stuck there -- ugh. But, I'll make the best of it. So, I'm with you -- *cancer sucks.* But, we'll pull through. Until then, we are entitled to bitch about it a bit!😄 *Keep strong cancer sister, we've got this!*

This was so emotional, you're such a beautiful fighter. When you mention about you sitting in the same chair as she was gave me goosebumps. May God give you and your family strength! God bless you and your family!💗🙏

You are a beautiful person, what an inspiration. We will probably never meet but you inspire me to be the best I can be. You inspire me to show my children to be their best. My parents only son and my only brother died on a Thursday, the tenth of the month almost 30 years ago when he was in his early 20’s. My mom died on a Thursday, on the tenth of a different month 8 years later and 3 weeks after my first was born. I miss them both so much. It has been a long time but I cry today just as hard as I did all those years ago. But I know they watch over us. I’ve had dreams where they tell me they are in a beautiful place and not to worry about them. I don’t think they are dreams…I think they are really coming to me and telling me they’re ok. Be well ❤️

I am currently fighting breast cancer. I am in the midst of my chemo treatments. And still have 2 more months to go. 6 months total of chemo. And I couldn't agree more with you! We are fighting for our loved ones! I also lost my mom to cancer a few years ago. I can completely relate to you on everything you are going through! You never know how strong you are, until we have to be! :) hugs!! :)

🙏my mom went at 43 on Thanksgiving💙 Bless her heart she gave the good fight for 10 years with chemo every Friday. I started to be her care taker at 15yrs old. 3 yrs after she passed I was diagnosed. She had metastatic breast cancer I had ovarian /bladder/ intestines. It's has been literally all I know. My whole family has passed from cancer. Aunts uncle's grandparents.. Not sure what God's purpose is yet but I was able to have a daughter before my hysterectomy and every day I wake up saying I will be the one to break the chain. I pray this out loud. My daughter will be cancer free. She was tested for the cancer Gene right away afterbirth and it wasn't passed down!!! We serve a gracious and merciful God🙏😍 I connect with your channel and your story because of your beautiful relationship with your ma and everything you did for her. Then you being quickly diagnosed right after. I have never seen anyone have a similar story. Keep fighting. Stay strong. Your mom is definitely there with you sitting beside you in that chair. She is laying by you in your bed after treatment and even riding shotgun on the ride home... Believe in the power of prayer and the power of Almighty Jesus and his name! God bless you and your family! May you be blessed with strength and favor! Sending you hugs and love!🙏🌸💙-J
