Taraba is one of the poorest state in Nigeria but ironically has the potential to be the richest non-oil export state in Nigeria. Forget solid minerals as it is capital intensive but focus on 5 cash crops that can grow abundantly in Taraba state and appoint experienced commissioners specific for each cash crop and not just a commissioner for agriculture:- 1) Sesame seeds - $1,600 per ton (markets - Turkey, China, UAE etc. ; uses - for making bread, cake, biscuits, oil and confectioneries), 2) Hibiscus flower - $1,890 per ton (markets - Germany, USA etc.; uses - hibiscus tea, flavoring and coloring in foods and confectioneries), 3) Blackstone flower - $2,400 per ton (also called Kalpasi or dagad phool in India. markets - India; Asia etc. ; uses - for seasoning and flavoring in chicken and meat foods), 4) Beeswax - $3,280 per ton ( markets - Finland, UK, USA, Australia, China, India etc.; uses - lubricant, waterproofing agent, wood and leather polish), 5) Gum Arabic - $6,850 per ton (in grades of A & B, markets - China, UK, Brazil, UAE etc. ; uses - for making sweets, candies, chewing gums and sweeteners in cakes, chocolates, ice-creams and confectioneries 6) Coffee and peanuts - $2,000 per ton ( but due to bad local quality control, international demand for Nigerian coffee and peanuts (a.k.a groundnut) is not available but can be created if quality control is improved upon. The lowest hanging fruit in Taraba state for immediate revenue generation, mass job employment and development in Taraba state is concentrating on the agricultural sector. Taraba state has over 5 major highly-in-demand cash crops that can earn them hundreds of millions of dollars monthly starting immediately . I've known this for a long time due to my experience and it is even the mentioning of this sector by Peter Obi during his campaign that made me believe that Peter Obi was the only candidate in Nigeria's democratic history since 1999 knew what he was talking about, he's the only presidential candidate that has mentioned specifically the opportunity in many states and no other presidential candidate mentioned the specifics since the time of beginning of 1999 elections. A lot is being said about mineral deposits in Nigeria but the truth is that Nigeria has abundance but not commercially viable, there is a difference. What basically I mean, is that we can find most of these mineral deposits scattered across many states in Nigeria but it is not profitable to set up mining companies on these mining sites as the cost of extraction will be greater than the profits, so in many cases its better for artisans to just use jigger and hammer or rent excavator for some days to extract it , except for a few mineral deposits as follows:- 1) Gold deposit (precious metal) - $51,000 per kg ( location - anka, mafara and talata in Zamfara state; Tegina in Kebbi state, Funtua in Katsina state). Other south-west states like Osun and Oyo gold deposits are having challenges and not long-term commercially viable. 2) Lead (Pb) / Zinc (Zn) Ore deposit (base metal) - $2,200 per ton 99.99% purity (location - ebonyi, enugu, plateau, taraba, gombe states) 3) Iron Ore (fe) ore deposit (industrial metals) - $110 per ton Fe > 66% purity (location - kogi, benue, nassarawa, enugu states)

His responses sounds political soundbite. I did not see him speaking tactically and with thoughts driven with knowledge. I wish well, pray for him and hopefully his initiatives will bear fruits.
