Ok as a suffer of this i have had this a few times ill give you other sufferers some pointers. I take a small tub or bath and fill it with hot water, 1 cup Epson salts, 4 drops tea tree oil, 5 drops neem oil and a spash of apple cider vinegar. Sit your self in this for at least 20 mins i also add (lemon myrtle oil) if your can find it. This has reduced abscess and helped with healing for me. best of Luck anyone with these painful problems. Thanks Mike for speaking up about this embarrassing issue and best of luck fellow comment readers

I had abscess too. Its embarrassing and very painful to go to work. It came back a week after surgery. I am a very clean person. My job requires a lot of sitting. I heard in grown hair can cause it and must get lazer hair removal on the buttocks.

respect to you brother , went through this 10 years ago and ignored it as I didn't feel comfortable talking to doctor . I ended up passing out and my partner got me to hospital and explained my symptoms.so straight to theatre and was on antibiotics and painkillers for week or so . If only I went and got antibiotics when symptom started . Stay safe man

So sorry you are dealing with this very painful condition. I think you are one hell of a man to be brave enough to put this out there. Many people suffer with medical conditions that they are to embarrassed to talk about which leads to them to avoid seeking medical treatment. This only will lead to other issues without medical care. Thank you for being brave enough and setting an example for others that seeking medical care is the smart thing to do.

Mine just came back, I had one inside :/ 1,5 years ago . I heard one can have a surgery to remove that whole affected area. I definitely will be trying to get a referal to a surgeon in the upcoming days.

Thanks. Just fyi, I was advised yesterday at the ER to see my doc for that referral and they are suggesting to remove that whole area. So to you and everyone that are suffering from this - there is hope we wont have to deal with this all our lives, yay.

Dude I feel your pain literally I just turned 25. And I’d say around when I was turning 23 I was in college and I felt this strange pain one day near thanksgiving when I sit down I was like what the hell. And I mean I guess I tried to shrug it off thinking whatever it was would go away. Well IT DIDNT/:( instead it kept getting larger and larger and more painful and irritating, it got to the point where it was excrutiating just to sit down in class plus working part time after college. One night I had a fever but went to school and work regardless. It was very embarrassing to deal with because people seem to be able to tell the way I tried to sit the way I started working and I’m sure they thought it was strange. Well later that night at work I got to where my ass was just in complete unbearable pain I couldn’t even bend over to pick something up off the ground so I called my girlfriend at the time now wife to get me we went to the hospital “a very bad one” and they basically just took a quick look and was like yep it’s an abscess so they gave me an antibiotic shot some antibiotic pills and pain meds and basically sent me on my way saying it will pop on it’s own when it’s ready. Well it did a few days later. What they FAILED to mention is that if an abscess is not treated correctly there’s a high risk of developing an anal fistula. Which is like a hollow tube that connects from inside the rectum to an out side area which was where the abscess popped so needless to say 3 years later after going to different doctors here I am. They all just try to do a rectal exam give me fiber pills etc. but it’s not treating the underlying issue. I’m currently suffering at this minute because I went through a good long period where I thoGot the fistula went away or healed guess what IT DIDNT. Now I’m sitting here with another abscess caused by the fistula in the exact same spot so I’m hopeing to go see my general surgeon and maybe he can refer me to a colorectal surgeon that actually knows what he’s doing and see what my options are from here. Prayers for the best.

Our general practitioner said it was a minor muscle pain... only days later i took her to the hospital on examonation we was told she also had sepsis. 6 weeks dowm the line she also has a seton inserted to help drain fluids... as you know will take months... i wish you both a healthy speedy recovery

I feel for you bro from the UK. I had a perianal abcess in march 2015 and it hurt like hell.... I didnt see a doctor and ended up with septicemia as the bacteria got into my bloodstream.... I was very sick and was close to dieing because of the septicemia, I spent a week in hospital after they removed the abcess because I had drips and stuff going directly into my veins. once out of hospital I was off work for another 3 weeks. it sucks big time bro, I hope you are well soon.

dude that's nothing to be embarrassed about man. you can tell your doctor any and everything. i got my ass checked up 10x by now. I've had doctors sticking their fingers up my ass quite a few times. that bacteria added with fecal matter if that enters your blood stream man you're going to get the worst infection ever. in Vietnam they laced spike traps with shit because they were well aware that if the spikes didn't kill anyone who fell in the infection certainly would.

Brad Hamilton Hey bro I hope Youre ok and they found out whats going on with you. Since I had the abcess Ive also had the ass inspections for crohns disease and having things up there sucks big time. I know what youre saying about the bacteria getting into your bloodstream aswell, Im so much more wisse to it now. If Im honest I thought it was a hemeroid (think I spelt that wrong lol) or a spot that would go away.... And when I started to get sick I thought "Oh just my luck, A big spot in my ass and now I have flu" Over her in th UK we have free health care but we are so over populated its hard to get an appointment to see someone, So by the time I felt really sick they told me I had to wait 4 days for an appointment.... I have my Dad to thank as he phoned up the doctors and flipped at them telling them I really needed to see them because I was feeling really bad, They saw me that morning and I was sent straight to the hospital.... Sorry for the long ass story lol. Hope You are fit and well my brother 👍

Hi Mike - thanks for the video ... any update? I just got news today that I have the same condition (I was hoping it was a hemmroid) but no chance.. anyway some of my research shows incontinence as a possibility.. that's very upsetting to me.. and he told me mine was at "11 o'clock position and a pretty much straight run". I guess not as bad as it could be. Anyway did your doctor tell you anything about the position of it or if incontinence is a concern? I hope you're a hundred percent by now. Thanks for your anticipated reply.

Hey Mike I am currently suffering from anal abscess went to the doctor a few days and they prescribed me antibiotics, stool softener, cream etc. The pain is unbearable and i’m thinking of getting it drained out it’s small but it’s no joke. Wondering if you can give me tips and what to expect when getting the abscess drained out? How is the pain? I did a lot of research and I heard you say that the recovery process takes a while? How long did it take for you to recover from the process? I’m very concerned about how long it will take. It is already as painful as it is. Please let me know your thoughts and advice on this subject would love to hear from your experience. Thank you

Hey Erica, Thank you for sharing your experience !!! The healing process should be about a month or 2, first week after surgery you should take it easy. second week try to move around your house. Its painful when you sit on it, try to lay on your side !! It helps !!! Thanks again get well !!!

Two months ago I didn't know that this abscess thing is. 6 weeks ago I had a pretty good idea how much it could hurt. It's now 5 weeks since the surgery and I've been back at work for a week already. I couldn't sit for first two weeks and for the following two weeks only short periods at a time. Getting better all the time, those doctors are really worth their wage. I had no bandages, just washed it in shower at least 5 minutes every few hours or when I started to feel uncomfortable. Most of the time I just spent at home butt nekkid :D
