I'd totally take CCW Safe if they covered accidental discharges. Since they don't that's why I like US Law Shield. They cover that, but the downside of US Law Shield is they don't cover several things like civil damages, cleanup, you can't pick your own attorney, and they don't pay you for missed work. So, you see why I'm torn between all three of these?

@@davidguymon1673 Call your own insurance agent and ask him to review ANY of these policies. First problem, you don't even know which company is covering anything. If they refuse coverage, you will be sending angry letters to a mailbox in the Cayman Islands. If they aren't licensed to sell insurance in your state, then that is all you have. And they AREN'T licensed in your state. It is illegal to provide insurance for criminal defense. If anyone told you they would, they are trying to defraud you. If it is civil insurance, you are far better off with an umbrella GL policy from your regular LICENSED REPUTABLE company. You don't even know the name of this supposed insurance company.

@@Dcook85 You will never meet anyone who collects on one of these policies in your entire life. Your friends won't, either. First, the odds of such a qualifying event happening are about once in every 200 lifetimes. That's the equivalent of playing a slot machine that pays off once ever 15,000 years. Then -- assuming the rare circumstances of such an event, you will never meet anyone who made it through the exclusions. It is a lawyer's lesson in how to not pay people. I showed the policy to a friend of mine who owned his own agency. He laughed. It is a sucker's bet. Slicker than a carnival game. The one number that proves it is Loss Ratio. That is Total Claims Paid divided by Total Premiums. On any standard insurance policy, you would expect it to be about 67%. That is, they pay out 67 cents in claims for every dollar of premium collected. Their loss ratios are below one percent. One company collects AT LEAST a quarter Billion dollars per year. I can only find two incidents where they claim to have any involvement and it isn't clear what they did in either one. I would not be surprised to hear that they have never paid any claims at all. You can't find their Loss Ratios. They won't tell you. That makes you the patsy. But you go ahead and send your money to that salesman who got you all excited about it.

What a coincidence…I was just online looking at getting a new conceal carry insurance company yesterday 5/1/23! I am currently with U.S. LawShield and my subscription expires July/23. I have decided to go with the defender plan with CCW SAFE as well. I’ve spent a lot of time researching this and truly feel CCW SAFE will give me more for my buck. Don’t get me wrong, as, U.S. LawShield is good and they’re very professional when I call to ask a non-emergency question, etc. The reason for my leaving is merely the fact they don’t offer as much as CCW SAFE does as you also stated about various companies in your video. I don’t think any other company does either for what I learned online….plus, at my conceal carry class we were somewhat ‘hurried’ into joining with my current company (actually ‘scared’ into doing it!). Here is a section from the USCCA policy that illustrates a problem with ALL of these policies. 1. Primary Insurance This insurance is primary except when paragraph 2. below applies. If this insurance is primary, our obligations are not affected unless any of the other insurance is also primary. Then, we will share with all that other insurance by the method described in paragraph 2.c. below. 2. Excess Insurance a. This insurance is excess over any other valid and collectible insurance purchased by the “insured”, whether primary, excess, contingent or on any other basis, that applies to an “occurrence” or “covered legal liability” to which this insurance also applies; b. When this insurance is excess, we will have no duty under this Coverage to defend the “insured” against any "claim" or suit if any other insurer has a duty to defend the “insured” against that "claim" or suit. If no other insurer defends, we will undertake to do so, but we will be entitled to the “insured's” rights against all those other insurers. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? "Primary insurance" pays first, and has the duty to defend, if something happens. "Excess insurance" only pays after the primary insurance pays out their entire policy limits. For example, if you have a homeowners policy with $100,000 limits, that will usually be "primary." If you have a claim of $105,000, your homeowners will pay $100,000 and the "excess" insurance would pay $5,000. If the claim is less than $100,000, the "excess" insurance doesn't even show up. In Paragraph 1, they say that they are the primary insurance, except as stated in Paragraph 2. That is, they promise to pay first. EXCEPT AS STATED IN PARAGRAPH 2. Paragraph 2a says that they are "excess" if you have any other insurance , at all. It specifically states that they are last in line behind every other coverage that might be applied. Paragraph 2b says they have no duty to do anything until your homeowners insurance has already exhausted all of their coverage. That is, if they are ever called to pay anything, they will be last in line. They have no duty to do ANYTHING until every insurance before them is exhausted. All you are really paying for is an increase in policy limits on your current homeowners, renters, or car insurance coverage - with more exclusions and limitations. All such policies will probably have very similar wording. Don't believe me. Take the policy and look for "Primary Insurance". It will be in every policy. The paragraphs may even be the same exact wording. And then, you would go into the other issues and exclusions. See the video by Marc Victor. His comments would apply to most, if not all, such policies with different wording. He doesn't even get into the stuff about who is actually going to pay. Don't believe me. Please. Go ask your own agent to review this coverage and tell you who would pay what if something bad happened.

Thank you for all you do. I liked the unlimited coverage of CCW Safe. However, I couldn't do it when I found out what the murder case was that they were "successful" in defending. Also, CCW Safe says that they don't defend you if 1) you invited the person in your home or 2) if it is a family member. As a woman, I thought of acquaintance sexual assault (person invited in home) OR domestic violence (a family member). I went with USCCA, but I can always change if I could get over the case they defended. I am also looking into an insurance for accidents, such as range accidents.

I am bound to Washington state for at least four years due to circumstances that otherwise improve my life through career growth and an obligation to work for two years for the employer who is paying my scholarship. Unfortunately, there have been a lot of self defense insurance woes in the state but US Law Shield has been approved. As apparently USCCA (and a few others) didn't file their policies with the state's insurance commission [per the commission's faqs regarding this issue], if true, this is a really basic oversight that these companies made, and it warrants the question of competency of the companies involved... Regardless, at the end of the day, I am grateful to have coverage that addresses all forms of self defense, that has no cap, and that has multi state coverage. If I ever move to a new state, I will likely consider CCW Safe as I do like their offerings!

And I had considered signing up for USCCA for at least 2 years. In retrospect I think I made a good decision because even though I don't carry a gun because my county doesn't allow it, I do carry two folders, mace and a stun~gun flashlight. USCCA covers any incident using lethal or less than lethal. I also like their tight~knit like, community~oriented culture, and their training. Some of their training is free and online. Just like car insurance it’s good to have because you never know when you might need it, and it’s better to pay a little now ($39.99/mo) vs a lot later in the event you use your firearm to protect yourself. Because even if you are in the right there’s still gonna be legal stuff to deal with & if you don’t got the $ in your account to retain legal Council & or bail $ you could be sitting in a cell for a hot minute while the legal process is conducted. Especially if your situation happens on a weekend & you can’t get to see a judge until Monday. Also another note for anyone knew to owning/carrying. If you have to use your firearm in self defense always ALWAYS remember: when the cops show up they most likely will automatically have in their mind that the person laying on the ground is the victim & the one who pulled the trigger is the perpetrator. While that may not be the case, it never helps to plead your case to the cops, that’s what your lawyer is for. Simply & respectfully tell them that you wish to remain silent until your lawyer is present at which time you will be more than happy to comply with questions. Also, if you shoot somebody and call it in to 9-11 keep it simple: there’s been a shooting, this is the address, send medical help then take your cell phone to another room & leave it there because the second you hit send on that call to 9-11 your are being recorded, even after you hang up they are still recording you. I’ve seen cases where the shooter was in the right but because of how they explained the event to the dispatcher they ended up getting charged with a felony once the 9-11 tape was played in court. Even the guys son whom he shot pleaded with the court not to charge his dad, but they did so anyway & because of the felony charge he can no longer own his firearm. Be safe, all!

I have been through two shooting incidents years ago but the main thing is to know the law & tactics to fight & I didn't need the insurance in both cases however I think I should get insurance because no matter how much knowledge you have and how prepared ( one ) can brandish that firearm when in fact it is not brandishing but this is some slick way to catch law abiding citizens in some " Catch 22 " on self-defense issues ♦️

Its best to carefully read these types of policies. Things I look for are stuff like can I pick my own attorney or do I have to use an attorney they choose? Some states don't even allow this type of self defense coverage. For example New York/New Jersey does not allow it. Some plans will only do reimbursement of your expenses if you are acquitted after trial or not charged. Meaning you are expected to pay up front the costs, so obviously those types of plans should be avoided, because you may go broke before you even get to trial. Just on a side note I guess they used the fact they had someone acquitted of a murder 1 as part of their spiel. They might have paid the bill, which is relevant, but they didn't do anything to get the person acquitted. Whoever the attorney was for that person is the one that got the acquittal. These companies themselves don't actually go into court and represent the clients, so I wouldn't put too much weight into that kinda factor.

Good advice. Even in Arkansas with a Constitutional Carry, you have a legal obligation to escape/flee before you can draw. There is no obligation for our Castle Doctrine. Either way, you need carry insurance.

No soup in Jersey for insurance. The governor says it encourages improper use of firearms. It's really sad that as a legal, law abiding citizens, you could lose everything and the criminals are giving more benefit of the doubt. I read an article a while back where three jokers broke into a guys house, I think 2 of them took the room temperature challenge and the guys dad was pushing a law suit because he said the homeowner had an unfair advantage because he had an AR15.

Olivia, do you know the reason USCCA dropped Kayla Giles? They represented her and even funded her legal defense for $50,000 until they found out that she did in fact committed a crime. After that discovery, they dropped her for cause. I urge you to do some research on that case, but of course, you have already chosen CCW instead of USCCA.

Awes9me video. Glad that you gave me something to think about beyond USCCA. On other thing to think about is how many lawyers are in your area which will accept the terms of the insurance. I will take a look at your recommendation. But, in my area USCCA, have a number of lawyers for where I live. And, some cover other types of cases as well. But, the other cases would be out of pocket if it goes beyond the terms and conditions.

Great info as I’m looking into insurance. Looked at the “other” insurance company that I got a free download and good Lord the bribes and guilt trip emails came in 3-4 a day and felt like I was dealing with a car salesman. I realize they have other programs they offer but just want the coverage not all the fluff. I like the fact the company you are with puts the money towards the client. I was leaning towards the company you selected and you made a slam dunk . Great info .

@@32icon you bet. How did the range thing turn out where the owners were being ignorant with you. I’m from a mixed race family and we deal with stuff like that in Montana on occasion. I appreciate your passion with guns. My father was a Highway Patrolman here in Montana for 25 years and never had to draw on anyone as he used the best defense weapon ever the human brain but was also deadly accurate with a pistol, shotgun and rifle. Prepare for the worst but hope for the best! Thanks for taking the time to post your material it is very much appreciated and you are one of my “go to channels” 👍😁 Have a superfine day.
