I think some people might want to have closure but it’s also the starting point of wanting more and more . First u would want to see the people u lost for one more time , then u want them to be more interactive so that u can converse with them and things go on and on and on..acceptance is the key . U can always remember the person whom u love regardless of any physical things that they left with .

Hard and deeply emotional subject. I guess each of us will deal with it in our own way. I have no children , during the almost3 years of chemotherapy and maintenance therapy, I have lots of time to reflect. Personally I do not want to leave a visual /audio recording behind. Thinking back to my parents, my father left no audio recording, just one letter and a few photos taken over the years. I still remembered with fondness the few conversations and advices that he gave me. My mother, who demanded my brother read my diary to her (I stopped writing when my brother told me), sent me audio tape (she cannot write), dropped hints on how her funeral arrangements should be….. well, I never listened to those audio tapes, they went into the bin . I have tried to think of something nice about her, for my own closure, I am still trying. Hummmm, never underestimate the power of childhood memories, they are fixed into our brains.

I totally agree with you with everyone will deal with our own ways. As we grow up in different backgrounds & deal with relationships differently, we are all uniquely different. We all will have to deal in the way we can accept and try to have a closure for whatever it is. As long as it is in the way we can accept, we already did our best. Hope you’ll get your own closure.

better to let go... accept that death comes to us all, as our inevitable fates and price of living. Cherish the memory by all means in ones heart and let go.

I agreed. But I think these people are also letting go and moving on. Our memory fades as time goes by that’s probably the main reason they are doing this not because they can’t move on. They are clinging on the best memory and to preserve that and never forgotten. Technology has come a long way so why not take advantage of the benefits it can give. They are not hurting anyone anyway so let them be if this means peace and a sort of happiness for them.

I am truly grateful for CNA Insider's dedicated production, which maintains the usual professionalism and high standards. Each interviewee has a heartbreaking story that is very real and thought-provoking. A small suggestion: from my personal perspective, it would be more engaging for viewers if each episode focused on the stories of one or two interviewees. This would allow viewers to become more emotionally invested and maintain continuity, rather than abruptly switching to another interviewee just as they become engaged with one.

This reminds me of the technology in the show "Unlock Your Boss" which is a Korean drama. There were people in the show who needed closure for the death of a loved one and they used something similar to what Raphael's parents used.

Everybody has their own way of griefing and accepting dealth. To some they might have already accepted it but of course still misses their child dearly. Unfortunately for Rapheal, his father has the LFS syndrome which means that all his kids will have a high chance of developing cancer which Im guessing is the reason why they did not have a 2nd child. They just probably want to see their kid again even if it's just through AI.

Personally it would tear me apart to see my loved one virtually, if they didnt exist in reality anymore. I think i will turn to meditation and listen to the lyrics of the song by hayao miyazaki Sekai No Ya Kusoku, although youre not with me, i wont keep your memories because i feel you in the breeze, i see you in the beautiful flowers everyday. My loved one will live on forever and is with me everyday.

Kind of a grey sketchy area. Very black mirroir-ish. This tech can be used to create a more personable and realistic AI which some may start to substitute for a real person. But tech never stop advancing, and we should prepare for such an outcome. IMO, I feel using it for this purpose is ok as it's just like a video but the abovementioned use case is the one that is scary.

If this tech has reached this stage in 2024, imagine how the tech would be in 2034 or 2050.. the realism and accuracy may be much much improved.. it can be used for bad reasons, like Imagine Stalkers creating AI hologram of their idols and imagine "dating" them and having them call them as dear...

So many idiots here. Of course the end of the grieving process is to let go and move on. Grief is different for everyone. For some, they grieve but for a few months. For others, a few years. Some even longer. There are widowed people who continue to wear their wedding bands ten years after their loved one's deaths. So, during their period of grief, some turn to religion. Others to friends and relatives, or one another. Some escape through their work or hobby. And yes, with AI technology, this can be another way to move on. Come on. It's a way of finding closure, to perhaps have that final dance with your father again, to cite a Luther Vandross song, or to tell your child the words you did not have the chance to say before their death. It is NOT creepy. Only idiots think that.
