Speaking of pigeons. I watched yesterday one walking inside Sainsbury's Supermarket at Fulham Broadway Station(District line). It checked every isle looking for food. The pigeon navigated through customers and it wasn't afraid of them. I'm sorry I can't attach a photo of it to my comment.

Good afternoon, my princess...a beautiful sunny day day...hyde park greener than usual...and a splendid pic-nic sort out in a magical way...What a fantastic day! Well, scotch eggs....mmh, I don't know if they're my cup of tea, because I don't love eggs (I know, I'm weird) but the rest is absolutely lovely! Thanks for using the verb "top up"...I've never heard before! Pimms is an adorable cocktail! A bun in the oven is a so funny expression...anyway, preggers is a good slang word to memorize! Looking at your skin, I'd say that you should put a high factor sun cream on your face, 'cause your skin is so soft and smooth; be careful when you'll come and visit Italy, above all if you do it in summertime! I get crazy for the verb "duck"...It's so cute! Ops, in my vocabolary balmy is translated as pleasant, mild and so you shouldn't need to shelter in the shade...as for squirrels, they are pretty cunning! They know people in Hyde park will give them something to eat and so they get cheeky! It's good to use the english words, that I love the most, rather than american words...Real english is that one spoken in England (I'm sure I'll be hated by a lot of people now) or at least is that one I prefer to anything else...I wish I was able to be eloquent some day...wishful thinking😞 Have a great weekend, my princess!

There's a corn flakes brand that's favored, in this house, named Hyde Park. I had never heard of Hyde Park in London, before. Maybe it's the equivalent of Central Park, in Manhattan, New York. Speaking of squirrels, many years ago, I was surprised, in Brooklyn's Botanical Garden, in New York, to see a squirrel, on the grass, near me, seemingly posing, for me to take a picture of it. Fine by me. Sorry it didn't get famous, since it didn't sing, nor perform in any other way. I don't even have that snapshot, anymore. Pitiful agent was I, for that squirrel. On that day, I got more interested in taking a picture of a gal I saw, who let me do so. Priorities are not always the same. I didn't even sound eloquent, to that gal, since I didn't even talk at all to her. My camera was the magical tool.

I do like your necklace. I will visit Hyde Park soon and will eat my sandwich there. Pimms? I will go for that but maybe I will top it up with Tequila. Hey, it goes good with frozen lime juice. We say duck and cover sometimes but it a totally different 1950s meaning.

Hi my lovely, my fridays' ray of sunshine, my Rose of England! 🌹😊 Such a wonderful theme and such an exquisite lesson Kath ! Yes, I love your necklace, totally somptuous and elegant on you indeed! I didn't know of 'scoth eggs' thanks for that one! Interesting too that the dominant colour of British picnics is Beige 🙂 I'm not surprised of all these pigeons, foxes and squirrels at your window when you record for they're obviousy aware of their chances to to attend in exclusivity and preview the recording of our lovely fairy and magician of words. Oh wait, I have to top up my beer and I'm with you again! ... 🍺 👍 Ok, where were we? ... O yeah, preggers ... In French, we would say, among many others, 'en cloque' ('in blister' literally) as a slang équivalent (Like in the beautiful song by Renaud: 'En cloque' on the album 'Morgane de toi' ! where he also wrote what is probably the most beautiful song ever: 'Mistral Gagnant' So many synonyms here: she's expecting /gravid / preggo /up the duff / knocked up / a bun in the oven etc. :-) I would have said 'Molly, don't move!', but 'Molly, freeze!' is so much funner, love it, thanks for that one too! Oh you know, I have to say that wasps are basically way, way less evil than men if you give it a thought! I personnaly find them beautiful and don't fear of them. As long as you let them alone, they generally don't pose major problems ;-) Even if I prefer🐝s Oh Kate, freeze! Duck your head, there's a spider going down staight for you ! 🕷😅 reminds me of another episode ;-) Balmy... what a beautiful word! Rather than really hot (I'd rather say 'scorching' or sth like that probably instead;-) it gives more the sense of 'mild, sweet, embalmed, pleasant, lukewarm,...probably. What do you think? Then, I remember indeed how friendly squirrels were when we visited St James Park ...Or was it Hyde Park, I can't remember precisely in fact, it was such a long time ago; i think it was not far from Buckingham Palace we had visited previously, so it was prolly st James, can you confirm?... so yeah I was so surprised when a squirrel, out of the blue, began climbing my leg with speed of light and was at the end of my arm in no time to steal a piece of the sandwich or biscuit I was eating; after that I had to share it whith him and was soon surrounded by all its mates come begging for their share ! I think i eventually had to flee to 'get over' the situation and get rid of them...😂🐿🐿🐿 Of course I wasn't disappointed by the lovely 'word of the week'! which is not only a lovely choice, but also a fitting way to say how eloquent this delightful lesson was. I would say that Aurélien Barrau is so amazingly eloquent! The theme, your voice, your charm, your lively tone, your fresh, bubbly, sparkling personality made this wonderful presentation, as always, a real treat I truly enjoyed! In fact, you are a true sunshine ! a fabulous episode! Merci beaucoup Katherine, excellent week-end à toi! 🙏👏👏👏 Bisous bisous, Love 😘🌹❤❤❤✨🐿🌼🐝🐿

@@englishwithkatharine Merci Katharine! Glad you liked it My gift: Here is a link, not for 'en cloque' but for 'Mistral Gagnant'. In that song Renaud addresses his little daughter with whom he passes some moments. He evokes his own past as a child and the sweets of his childhood; he evokes nostalgia and time passing; For me, (as for most of the French), it is among the three greatest songs ever written in French for the unfathomable beauty of the text and the wonderful piano melody. I get goosebumps each time I listen to this song. You could learn it on the piano I guess :-) 🎹 when you think that he wrote it in a few minutes and only because he was missing a song for his album and he even hesitated to put it on the album ! ... I had made a translation in English though it is very tricky to render it in another language because he uses a lot of sweets brands of the time; so I had to find English equivalents which was not easy; tell me if you want to have an idea of the lyrics in English and I will try to find my transcription kzitem.info/news/bejne/wI-n4Kl7ZmeDeG0 I have to love you and leave you for now my sweetie! :-) Bisous 🥰😍🤗
