@@PranavKumar-dd2xo The overall quality if films in the 50s, 60s (and maybe 70s) was higher than all following decades. For us laymen, most films which you can find today from that era are good enough for at least one watch. The bad ones have not lasted through to digitisation. However, Samdish is a film nerd, and so the films that make him happy are good based on many technicalities - particular type of camera work, screenplay, writing, etc. For that you need access to FTII syllabus and/or know FTII scholars / NSD guys.

He did lack the depth of movies of new age cinema of 70s to 80s The mention of Vijaya Mehta ( the director she missed working with) drew a blank. Maybe it got edited out. But ok.

These films she mentions no 20 year old of these days know, party, saaransh etc. I only know Ankur because Anant Nag, extremely famous Kannada actor, Malgudi days creator Shankar Nags brother, made his debut in that movie. really great of samdish to show these yesteryear actresses and actors, especially the Pahwas. Her role in munnabhai is great!

She is a legend. She is a very versatile actress, there is a certain dignity and grace about her and with her talent, she is far too modest. Keep this interview running in the background while doing something else on the computer, for about 30 minutes. If you don't get a feeling that your mother or a friendly aunt is sitting in the room, you have no heart. Her voice and manner of speaking are so soothing, no wonder she got cast as a mother in every movie.

the screen went into the bkground becoz of my mistake and it took me 10 minutes or so to search it..... was distrubg to only hear the voice..... the lady still has many surprises inside her but she is surrounded by mediocre movie makers

Hey Samdish, thanks for bringing her on. Rohiniji has been instrumental in shaping the entertainment industry and yet so underrated. Would also like to just mention here about the question about Ben Kingsley's British heritage and yet playing Gandhi, fun fact, he's half Gujarati. So he does carry some Indian-ness that probably shows in Gandhi.

I was scared of her negative roles if I rebember well it was in Chaalbaaz .I was scared till today after 3 decades . Today when I saw her interview I realised she's such a good person .
