You could not discern anymore what just bullshitted you, the lag or a cheat. Or the unbalanced ability spam. Lightfall sealed the deal of getting out, also getting sunsetted/vaulted stuff sold a second time. After this vid I am beginning to think, most of the issues in pvp may been cheaters in some way. I am getting now why Bungie started sueing cheat companies and may have stopped investing too much into the pvp game. After all - why care about pvp when the majority cheats anyways. Also might be a reason why Bungie balanced away from gun skill to abilities. I really would like to see an anonymous interview with one of the former employees on the topic.

I think there's a real difference between cheating on pvp and breaking the game in pve. Since the very dawn of gaming people have enjoyed trying to break the game. Almost all of speedrunning is trying to break the game in unique ways. I'm a tinkerer by nature. When i get a new tool i like to take it apart and see exactly how it works. What kind of motor it has, where's the capacitors? These people on the pve side are basically doing that same thing. I enjoy games mainly for the mechanical game feel so it's not for me but i don't have any trouble understanding someone trying to glitch and exploit the game to see what's possible. On the pvp side it's totally different. You hurt nobody by using cheats to speedrun a raid and see if you can ohk a boss. You hurt others by using cheats in pvp. This is an important distinction that needs to be kept in mind.

I think both things can be true. Don't send hate to people for no reason. And I genuinely hate anyone who cheats. Simple, to the point. Im not gonna go out of my way to message ppl cuz i see a clip, but if you cheat in my lobby, your gonna catch smoke. I never can, and will understand the reason why people cheat. You know for a fact it only negatively effects everyone around you when you do it. And if having a task that's impossible to lose bc a computer, or program does all the heavy lifting for you, why tf are you playing this game, and not just staring at your screen playing cookie clicker with auto clickers on. I despise xim/chronus users for their antics of thinking the already easy game that bends bullets out of the air to hit things was too hard, so they needed more help. I guess they feel entitled to a 2.0kd and flawless loot even though they'll never put any time in to improve. But at the very least, even they play half the game. People who use aimbots, walls, rapid fire, no clip, infinite ammo, net limit. What the fuck is the point. Whats fun about playing against pve enemies that don't fight back? (Wait shit thats base D2 rn anyways. Still at least there you have to somewhat try). Whats the fun in boosting your dogshit friends to top500 elo while you wall in trials for weeks on end, hopping from account to account? Its like winning a foot race against someone who's legs you broke just before the start. Cool, you won, you really did it, amazing. Also, with how many years this company has known about cheaters doing mass recovs, you'd think they'd wanna do more to establish some kind of anti cheat that can catch ppl faster than 3-4 business weeks. You can submit a manual report ticket on their site and it wont be addressed for weeks, sometimes even months. Tldr: If you cheat, go fuck yourself, go aim bot bejeweled and watch your computer auto solve the game for you. If you work for any game company. Holy fuck deal with this shit.

I would personally love if bungie didn't ban these people but rather, after the account gets flagged, make them visible at all times in activities, allow their teammates and opponents to back out of the lobby without penalties and watch no one play with them. Let them "win" and then give the actual win to the people who have to suffer from these cheaters. There is a mobile game that did this and MAN it did wonders to their cheating problem. Once they figure it out and make a new account, have ALL new accounts go through qualifier matches to place them in brackets or quite literally have them verify who they are like other games do (via id or what not).

Interesting video! Agree with the "there is no going back". Been gaming for decades and as soon as you cross that barrier beyond normal game play, the rules and challenges are gone. Figured this out in the 80s after digging into the code of a game I was playing on my C64 as a kid. We got a glimpse of that with the crafting bug. Made a rule for myself not to cross the barrier until I was intellectually done with the game and wanted to see more out of the code. I also learned how to walk away from games, and to not get stuck on them. Frankly, D2 has always felt way too unbalanced/inconsistent to be a good pvp experience. It make sense that people trying to make a living off of it will push pass that barrier, it will be interesting to see how fast the community dissolves after the next expansion. It feels like the writing is on the wall.

I've been part of the sweat community for a long time, I'm in many discord servers where we hang out, let me tell you, the vast majority of top 0.5% players are either using Ring 1, xim/cronus or some form of net limiting/manipulation. Like 1/3 of the people on my bungie friend list are either ximmers/ring 1 users or knowingly playing with cheaters. I know one guy who is on his fourth account now. There is no point in trying to get better at endgame PvP, you can't compete against this 😂 on the other hand, I've seen some of these guys use cheats in PvE instead and ngl its kinda funny, most goofiest thing I've seen was a guy spawning a massive, mega Titan bubble.

It is a really weird experience discovering how common cheating is in the top 0.1% of the game. My clan and I have reached the highest of highs consistently without cheats and its also super baffling to witness how uncommon entirely 0 cheat top players are. The higher you go in destiny the more cheating degeneracy you see. Its honestly unbelievable

Cheating is one thing, but starting harassing... It's really sad, that there's nothing you can do about cheaters. It really ruins the fun for others. But that's actually not even the biggest problem here. If those guys are toxic in game, the must be no different irl. Those people clearly need help and psychological treatment

Did a deep stone with an LFG group and one of the guys just straight up net limited on taniks and told everyone what he was doing. A kings fall fast run one of the guys had his mic muted most of the run but eventually told us he was banned for hacking and still doing it on his new account for farming speedruns. When it spreads to LFG, you know its everywhere. Some speedrunners just do net limiting to chunk boss hp as a normal thing, ppl obsess over pvp cheaters but its in every aspect of the game. Bungie and most content creators are well aware but don't know what to do with how unwieldy their engine and code is

@@pimpnorris2097 I guess it depends on how you do PvE content. For me I get this big sense of satisfaction for doing end game PvE content so the fact people in LFG are cheating kinda irk me. I have started trying to learn how to Solo stuff because I can't stand people cheating in PvE as much as PvP because it does effect the other people on the fireteam and their ability to enjoy the experience. I do agree with you fully on PvP - I played old school Halo pvp stuff and I loved it. It was a huge draw to me for Destiny (and the lore) but I now hate PvP because I play on PC and I would bet there are cheaters in almost every match past a certain level.

Speedruns are always reviewed by moderators and whether we actually call it a world record is ultimately determined by the community. Reminds me a lot of of top competitive sports. Almost everyone uses stuff that is forbidden or is in the grey zone (like xims). Now with money involved, addiction and the human need for acceptance in your group, the borders of legal and illegal gets blurred. As you said in the end of the vid, cheating starts to feel normalized. Just watched a clip of a top class female fitness woman, stating that she's natural... Knowing that she has bought anabolics from a friend. She kind of seemed to belive her own lie...
@tobimontana61

Yeah, it’s the same shit. People are just so busy worshiping their idols, they just don’t want to see the reality. Everybody in professional sport is on gear weather you like it or not. And if know how easy it is to get around the testing and how much of joke it is anyways, as the big organization know as well and make sure the big names don’t get caught, it’s just completely laughable. I mean people believe the Rock is natural and Chris Hemsworth got his Thor physic with chicken, broccoli and 3 times Training a day…how naive can you actually be.

This isn't even sad to me anymore. Bungie has completely shit the bed on the front of cheaters in their game. Battleye did nothing, their ban waves do nothing. I'm not sure about other games, but this has got to be one of the worst things to happen to the gaming community. This doesn't even cover the people that are closet cheating, or just using walls, just to scurt under suspension at the top level. It's wild to me that Destiny is this compromised. I can't see this game, at least on the pvp side, surviving after Final Shape, and I think Bungie know they are losing the battle. But Bungie also benefits from the cheaters since they usually just buy expansions when they do get banned.
