No road rage or gun violence??? Does hyper alcoholism lead to domestic violence?? What about the food , does it have High percentage of toxic pesticides or chemicals ?? I can clearly see a ton of use of plastic in supermarket. A friend of mine who recently moved to USA told me his diabetes number goes up when he is in the USA ,even though he walks a lot there, but (number) gets reduced whenever he comes back to india for holidays, so there's something wrong with food, crops ??

@fact-o-pedio4603 We do have a high percentage of domestic violence and other alcohol related crimes. We are one state with a high percentage of overweight people. I'm not sure how to answer your friends experience, I can say that our diet here is more meat and potatoes and of course dairy(cheese). Add in our long winters, it's clear to see why we have the issues we have. God bless

We love Wisconsin 🥰🧀. I am originally from So Cal where. We couldn’t afford a home there and the schools in Cali have two fences not here in Wisconsin. The schools are great. The people are warm and welcoming and the homes affordable. The churches and community take care of the homeless.

Green Bay is nice overall. I lived in Chicago for a few years after college and found my way back to GB. Green Bay is changing fast. 20 years ago homeless vagrants were much fewer and mostly unseen. Now we have people with cardboard signs asking for money all over the city. The top nation in the world studied by professionals gauging happiness is Denmark. They are essentially homogeneous? Once again, an accurate portrayal, Nick! One day in the late 1960's, some of us from Appleton (about 30 miles up the Fox River from Green Bay) drove down to Green Bay. It was a warmish, humid day, so the paper mills' aroma was intense. One of us remarked that it smelled like a really bad social disease. A passerby on the the street turned to us and shrieked, "That's the sweet smell of success!" Green Bay Pride.

GO PACK GO BABY!!!!!! Really nice city. Live an hour from GB (between Manitowoc and Sheboygan), and have known some people that have lived in Green Bay and near by, as well as gone to school there (UWGB and NWTC). You may have also heard some people mention somewhere called Door County. Probably ties with the Dells as my favorite tourist spot in Wisco. Have you also been to the Fox Valley (Appleton), Manitowoc, and Sheboygan as well? Appleton is a cool looking downtown on College. Really well kept, especially by the Fox Cities PAC (really cool place), and has the largest retail concentration in the region just off 41. Manitowoc and Sheboygan, check back in the summer lol. For Sheboygan, South Pier is amazing in the summer with Blue Harbor, Road America has races in the summer just in Elkhart (as well as having the fancy Osthoff resort), nearby Kohler has the 5-star golf and hotel American club, the cheese capitol of the world being Plymouth, the Kohler-Andrae beaches, and 8th St has some of the best restaurants, not to mention the double brat with the works. There is also some cool things like Brat Days and the Mercury Boat Races (which I highly recommend). Manitowoc, also has pretty beaches, the birthplace of the ice cream sundae being in TR, and so many cool events, such as Sputnikfest and the Balloon glow. Also has the maritime museum, an art museum, and even a little zoo. There's also a scenic road along the lake called Memorial Drive between both towns, and you can see the lake. Its ugly at the time with an empty mall, but its gonna be torn down soon and replaced with something else. Manitowoc has been a struggling town with industrial companies going overseas, but has been promoting some tourism, and is coming back, and I always forget about it because i'm usually in Sheboygan in the summer, yet im in Manitowoc in the winter. But both towns are really cool in the summer (especially summer nightlife), and if you make another tour in the summer months again, I highly recommend checking out summer life in both Ship City and the Malibu of the Midwest.

Lived near Madison for a few years. Ended up moving back to Chicago. It was kinda boring to be honest. Very nice people though, made some good friends, cool coworkers at my job. Got used to the slower pace pretty quickly. It's strange how my perspective on driving changed. When you're away from the chaos of the city for so long your mind becomes more relaxed when you're behind the wheel. I genuinely understood the FIB thing. Born and raised in Wisconsin. You definitely didn’t get the true Supper Club experience. The best are in the North Woods, usually in the middle of nowhere and by a lake. And I’m talking the old ones, not the new, aimed toward the fibs ones. A good old solid supper club with locals.

You didn't go to a supper club. You went to the Union Hotel, one of the best and probably most expensive restaurants in the area. Also, Lambeau field is NOT 100 years old. It opened in 1957. The old City Stadium was and is now the East High School football field. Probably should have spent less time subtlety sneering at the area and its alcohol use and more time doing some actual prep work to get your facts straight.

As a F.I.B. who went to high school in Southeast Wisconsin, it's a very underrated state. Natural beauty with friendly people, Spotted Cow, and Woodmans. Heck, I'm going shopping there tomorrow.
@rattmausch

Spotted Cow is over rated IMO. It seems to taste different to me than it did 15/20 years ago. I would go with New Glarus's other beers like Staghorn or Fat Squirrel but there's other breweries in the state that are WAY better than New Glarus. If you're familiar with SE WI (Where I live) you should try a place like Duesterbecks, East Troy Brewery, Eagle Park Brewery, etc.

Green Bay has to be very careful as to not price the middle class out. They have to closely monitor real estate prices and rental prices. They also are very lucky to be located in a very cold weather area. There’s nothing better to control rapid growth than extremely cold winters and short summers.👍

@user-df2mn5bx2q what are you talking about? Summers aren’t 7 months, they just got dumped on with snow and it’s April lol. It’s cold from October through April and you see snow commonly in each of those months. Summer is consistent from about early June through early September so 3 months, lol
@davidwicklin9943

@@DanielDahl-i9p It’s April 3rd, well into Spring, and we just had a half-foot of snow with low temps below freezing. “Summer” weather in a maximally “hot” year could be May through September so I’d liberally give a ceiling of 5 months of Wisconsin “summer” temperatures - usually it’s cooler some parts of those 150 days - but the summer here are typically beautiful overall. And this was the mildest winter on recent record we’ve ever had per all the meteorological records.

Ok. I'm in Green Bay right now, watching this. On Oneida St down 1.5 miles from the stadium. And I was just eating cheese curds... different brand though - Malcore's (which always need xtra salt). I'm friends with all my surrounding neighbors (some more than others). You gotta know where to go on any given night out... Years ago, Broadway (on the west side) was the biggest bar/nightlife scene... but it was gentrified starting in the late 90s, and is now mostly shops and restaurants. On weekend nights, go to Washington St and parts of Main St, and parts of Ashwaubenon and Main St in DePere.

I've been to WI only once in 2018 for an event in Milwaukee. Dang though, everyone was friendlier than every place I had been to in the previous 10 years. I loved it just for the natural charm and the fact people act human towards one another. I know that is a low bar, but Wisconsinites are special in their humane presentation and stereotypically Canadian-like politeness.

Born and raised in DePere, WI (no, my family is not rich). My job transferred me to Minneapolis, MN and I was there for about 10 years. Plenty of gastro-pubs and nightlife, but it never really felt like home. Nobody talked to each other, parts of the city felt _really_ unsafe, and renting there was _expensive._ Glitz and glamour but superficial. Moved back to Green Bay to help out my aging parents a few years back. Man, I missed this place! Affordable, safe, and friendly. It felt like _home_ again. Not as exciting as the big city, but it just feels right. Like, I can relax and live in peace.
