Your cotehardie is delightful--it has that glove-like fit that makes you look like you stepped right out of an illustration. And the fourteenth century seems apt these days--a reminder of where we would be without the medical advances of the last 700 years. Even without them, they got through it and so shall we. What a brilliant touch with the serger to give you the option for later adjustments - and making it of black linen so all Bran fur is invisible. I just saw this video and i have to share an amazing story about medieval fashion. I was prepareing a costume for comicon and the character La Andromeda promethieum has a very unique black gown. by accident when making a mockup of a medieval gown from an authentic recreated pattern for a surviving garment the shape of it was very similar to the characters. i made the gown with the added futurist alterations which was just sleeves being fitted only to being to drop lightly a few inches above the wrist and a shooting heart star shaped false peekaboo slit in the front. other then those two alterations the shape and style of the gown is a medieval garment after lining it up with the full lengh photo of the anime character and her dress it's a match. Although the anime film is from the 80's set in the soon to be 2000's it's amazing that a medieval garment was reintroduced into a futuristic film.

@OpusElenae
3 жыл бұрын
Yup! I sewed the sleeve together and serged the sleeve head to finish both layers together. Then I inserted the sleeve into the armscye. Then I trimmed the armscye seam allowance, on the body, to 1/4”. Then I folded the serged sleevehead over and hand sewed it down to the body fabric. Is that a little clearer?
