Mannnn I miss high jump a lot but long jump I’ve never messed with too much. I know the landing was always difficult for me. I’m not sure I have quite the speed to be good at it?

@@JohnEvans if you miss it, I encourage you to give it a go. Could give you some fun benchmarks to try and improve on and I'd be really interested in seeing it. Altho I dunno how it works in the US haha. And you might not be fast enough to get much further than 6m, but I personally reckon it's great for training single leg take off to handle higher forces and speeds.

I fixed mine by stopping squatting for a while, if it hurts, and no glute stretches - then release TFL with a hard small ball, stretch it. 5x 30-45 sec ISO pushes against a velcro strap around upper calves, standing, at 70-80% effort. Your glute medius should scream. Did these daily, sometimes twice a day. Then I did lying side leg raises, with ankle weights, slow tempo, 3 sets to near failure, 2-3 a week. Later, lateral lunges, crab walk with a flat band around knees Took a few months before it was fully healed.

@@sobhannouri Mine was pretty bad, the pain was like someone stabbing me on my right IT band when I tried to squat, or push off into a LR plant jump. I was limping for a while. So if yours is not as bad, you should recover much faster. I also used a massage ball on the area later on against the wall. And lots of standing side leg raises. basically tight TFL overworked pulling on the IT band due to weak glute medius, and tendinopathy on the glute medius tendon
