4:15 that stub is for a tongue style jack. You would use them to load the trailer if it wasn't hooked to a truck or loading heavy up car ramps from the rear.

About time you got a Load Trail! I have the same exact trailer except it has 3 axles and is rated to 24,900. Best trailer I've run and the paint looks brand new after several years. Your trailer wont rust because Load Trail powder coats their paint which is the best way to do it. Weld some D-rings between the fenders. Message me and I can send you some pictures of what that looks like.

I think you will love that trailer. You can haul taller freight which means you can start looking at double drop/low boy loads. Have some "D" rings welded in between your fenders so you can tie stuff down. That trailer should open up a whole new chapter in trucking for you. Keep the videos coming!!!!

When I did hotshot I had a trailer like this, hauled quite a few military trailers,tractors,cars,trucks,all kinds of farm equipment and stuff that would have been oversized (Height) on a deck over. If your always going to be dock height type loads then deck over is the way to go but if your searching loads I found this type of trailer worked out quite well. I wasn't my idea a guy followed on a forum dispatched like your going to do and this was the only type trailer he would load on the west coast now I believe he has branched out too the Mississippi but still loading that trailer.

@the1969info

I had a thought about increasing your mpg. Everyone believes the flat surface from a cargo trailer on your flatbed causes a large windbreak that lowers you mpg. My idea is the front of your trailer is almost pointed, what if you put up walls on the ' V ' or triangle shape, as well as the first 2 foot of the trailer. You should have enough room for tie downs and tarping, do you think it might be a good idea for creating less wind resistance, maybe improving your mpg?

Sounds like you got a good plan working. I wish you the best with it. Local is not really that bad if you find something that works for you. I run local for 6 years as a company driver and that turned out being the best money I ever made as a company driver (local or otr). I was making $45,000-$50,000 a year on that job and that was back in the 80s, which was really good money at that time. Things were a lot cheaper then. I was home everyday-maybe not for long-but at least home. Just run 3 loads a day for 5 maybe 6 days a week at times. The pickup point and drop off point was less than 100 miles apart. Loved it. I pulled a Pneumatic tanker and didnt have to fool with chains or binders or tarps or anything. Didnt have to wait in line to load or unload except sometimes one of the plants would break down, then I might have to wait a few minutes?

First thought. If you flew driver, yourself for new truck. The trailer would have been close to route he (or you) would be driving empty. I do hope the new trailers are better quality, axles trued up to frame. With miles you do. A bad alignment can be very costly. Average person 1/20th MPG, tires near tread limit in 40k miles is no big deal. Most replace for age in dryer areas. If trailer, axles are not strait refuse it. The round thing in back is for a jack on either side to stabilize rear trailer so it doesn’t lift at GN point. You need two jacks. I see someone said Ramps. That possible. I’m too lazy to try to look again.
