Dude, I'm Brazilian, and I was looking for content like this, since in my language there is no content like this for free. Thanks for the tips, especially on how to review the games I had already heard about this from some great Brazilian masters, but none of them explained how to actually do it. These tips with this explanation could very well be paid, so thanks man

yeah i'd like to play more, but unless i fly out of the country there's not too many opportunities to play in Australia - really can only play once every 3 months or so. played well in my last tournament finishing 9th from 101 players so hopefully will be able to bring that momentum into my next tournament!

@jacksarkisian

@@alekhinesgun9997 my OTB rating is 1750 atm, but its super underrated because there's not many tournaments to play in Australia. i would expect my OTB Elo to be around 1900 Elo strength, which is still a pretty big discrepancy but i'm learning & becoming stronger every day 💪

Good tips, although the simplest tip of them all is simple: You played over 3000 rapid games on that account and that game time alone will improve everyone massively if they decide to put the hours in. I think it is impossible to play 3000 rapid games without crossing 2000 elo if you have some form of intent and mindfulness when playing.

This seems impossible to me, suppose its true what they say, you have to believe first or you will never accomplish anything, problem is in so many games i play i always reach a point in the middlegame where i have no idea what to play , i often just move my king back and forth. I am rated about 1750

i plan on making a video soon on how to make plans during games. i know how you feel - its super difficult and quite often even i get into positions where i'm kind of shuffling pieces around waiting for my opponent to make a commitment. its easily the hardest part of Chess - figuring out what to do when it seems there's nothing to do.

from the few games i've looked at it seems your time management could use some work. you're trying to get out of the gates too quickly and force tactics onto the board before you've fully developed. this can sometimes work, but not with the openings you're playing. for example against the French you play the Steiner Variation, it seems like you don't quite know the theory for it either (Be2 is standard in this game on move 6 www.chess.com/game/live/113152860483?username=jimclapsheylop). i made a video recently on tweaking your opening repertoire if you wanna check it out, ChessBook is a really useful tool for it as well. but generally it looks like your problems arise in the opening, to which you're not even spending time on. definitely the part of your game that needs work.

really just depends on how much time you can dedicate to Chess per day. if i spend 2 hours per day to your 1 hour, i'm going to achieve in 1 year what you will achieve in 2 years. 1550 is still crazy good, lots of lower rated players would kill for that rating 🤝

right now I'm around 1750, but I've only been able to play in 3 FIDE rated classical tournaments (one of which was only a 5 round tournament). tournaments in Australia are super expensive due to flying, accommodation, entry, etc. so I don't get too many opportunities to increase my Elo. realistically I'm probably around 1850-1900 OTB strength at the moment.
