This documentary shows the stories of six Ukrainians who fled the country to escape the war. They found shelter in two Bulgarian cities.
The so-called "special operation" of Russian forces in Ukraine started at 5 am on February 24.
While Ukrainians fearlessly were defending their country, Russian troops chose to strike civilians in the cities all over Ukraine, claiming to hit only military targets.
In reality, it's just an act of terror and genocide toward the Ukrainian nation. From that moment, there is no 100% safe place in Ukraine, only more or less.
Running away from rockets and bombs, 9 million people, which is 20% of the population, left their homes, seeking a safer place. From them, 4 million people left Ukrainian territory.
Bulgaria welcomed approximately 300 000 Ukrainian refugees from the start of the invasion. We met some of them placed in Gabrovo and Veliko Tarnovo to show their story.
