Two months ago my nero told me I might have PD? I gave her several of my symptoms that I was experiencing over the past years. She told me when I was leaving, that it was up to me if I wanted to come back in six months? That shock me to the core. Now I'm finding it's a hopeless case medically. I'm my second week of fast walk. I'm taking 300mg of B 1. Changing my diet to chicken meat only and the rest fruits and vegetables. All this I found on the net and not at the doctors office.

I was diagnosed at 40 in 2018. I played adults Mens ice hockey as a goalie from 30-44. There were many times when an opponent would skate through my crease and just elbow me to the side of the head, like totally just extending and blowing the side of my head. I never got tested for concussions. The odd smack by dad to the head.. who knows..it is what it is. Pd definitely sucks, nothing good about it…..except brought me even closer to the maker. ☝🏾❤

Thank you for sharing! That's very interesting. Have you spoken about this potentially contributing to your Parkinson's with your neurologist at all?

I too, working at Signetics in Sunnyvale, worked with trichlorethylene. I never considered it as a potential cause of my PD. I have considered being exposed to agent orange in Vietnam, plus my older brother had PD.

Interesting, I also worked at Signetics in Sunnyvale in the Reliability testing lab. I've tried tracking down others I worked with but no luck so far. There's an interesting book "Ending Parkinson's Disease" which talks about TCE and Parkinson's linkage. The book also has a map of toxic cleanup sites in Silicon Valley, right where I used to live on the Mountain View Palo Alto border

That's very interesting, John. We've touched upon how truly complex the 'cause' of Parkinson's is in previous videos. For example, perhaps there was a genetic predisposition that only resulted in Parkinson's when triggered by exposure to these chemicals. Thank you for sharing!

I can't help wandering about people who think might know what started their Parkinson's. I think everyone should write in about this.

I was raised in Salinas CA Salad bowl capital of the world My mom worked in a building that wrapped cauliflower. I believe that's where mine came from. Agricultural pesticides

Brian is wonderful, isn't he? It's incredible to hear the stories from so many people in a similar situation to you. Hopefully, as we learn more from your experiences, we can continue to reduce exposure to these harmful chemicals. Thank you for sharing!

The problem is that potential triggers for PD varies for different ppl from both genetic & environmental factors so there is no specific, singular cause. Staying away from any chemicals or mold is the best anyone can do… then there’s Parkinsonism possibly from diets, sports or vaccine reactions… the list can be anything unfortunately.

That is very frustrating. It is important to advocate for yourself and make sure you are getting the help you need. Have you been able to find a neurologist that you have a better relationship with now?
