r/crossfit is the sewer of CrossFit, full of whiney, unhappy, rotten human beings who routinely downvote any defense of CF's methodology. No one should think it represents CrossFit. Flowseidon9 seems to be the only active mod in that sub. That handle makes me think he, or she, might be or have been a flowmaster. If so, he should be ashamed for letting all the malcontents have such influence over the sub.

@@lmn13 I'm unaware of any CF forum as big or active. Unfortunately. These days, I'm pretty much just hanging out in Sevan's live chat for my CF fix. You can ask questions about CF or talk about CF aside from the topic of the show. Usually. For news, I'm at the Barbell Spin site, some times Barbell Bend. Once every two weeks I might check back in at r/crossfit. I'm probably being overly negative about the sub. There's still some good posts here and there. Hiller does have some fans in there. Maybe we should go back and reclaim it for CrossFit.

You can hate or love Sevan but you can’t deny what he’s been doing for CrossFit and the CrossFit games athletes. Most of these names - as mentioned by not only these individuals but coaches and spectators alike - don’t get shown by CF itself so you never get to learn them and build a connection. Sevan is the bridge connecting that gap, undeniably. 🤷🏻♀️

she's tough. I know it's your lady but I gotta be objective. That 165 snatch is the only reason I don't have her on the podium. Everyone can do more, but she didn't do more when it mattered. She has championship ability, but I think that's next year. My pick is like 6th, but I wish y'all the best.

What is currently going on behind the scenes is going to change the face of CrossFit. And they're doing it because they love it and all the shit talking you guys are getting is insane to see. Keep doing what you're doing. Anyone who's watching has noticed that Sevan literally changed how Talking Elite fitness interviews people. They started asking the tough questions and it's awesome to see. And you literally changed how they set the rules at semifinals.

Hi Andrew, always wanted to ask you this: Under the following assumptions: 1. HQ have to/want to be apolitical or only represent only mainstream or selected opinions 2. The goal of you, the "alternative media personnel", is to collaborate with HQ, be mentioned, be part of an important transparent discussion. If you would agree that those are true, I could understand why there is a perception that Sevan, for example, might "spoil" the credibility of the Spin list. Especially after the deaffiliation debacle with the Tweets, HQ wants to preserve its image. Sevan is a VERY direct guy, who would very often mention politically polarising opinions off topic (about vaccination, for example) or use a bit more direct language (but not hateful). AND THIS IS PART OF HIS CHARM AND BRAND For HQ to be able to affiliate themselves with him, acknowledge him and cite him, he would have to use more "businessspeak". As a private person, not as much as CF must, but still, staying relatively apolitical and not very controversial. I'm not saying it's easy and that he should just become the better Morning Chalkup. I am not even saying that he should work towards his brand being compatible with that of HQ. Maybe being the "villain" is better for the sport. It's just a consideration and a trade-off that must be made from both sides and it's currently understandable why it is NOT being made. What do you think?
@Porygon1917

The only reason someone would talk down about Sevan is either: A) They have no information regarding CrossFit's Media history ... or ... B) They disagree with some of his "political" opinions, since he is very outspoken, and most people who are entrenched in that space will instantly disregard someone who believes opposite of what they do.

his support for Greg despite Greg's massive racism and threatening women (and I don't mean the tweets) is a problem. Everyone kind of ignores it but HQ and their investors know that stuff is PR cancer.

The games itself is boring if I wanted to watch people workout I’d go to planet fitness. The reason the games was enjoyable because there felt like a story, whether it was who can beat Fraser/froning or the dottirs goin at it. There’s a reason to watch people race gives it the spice that’s fun to follow. I don’t really think we get that without these medias who let us in those personalities so we can pick our hero’s and villains

it's mental with Hopper. He got to Clemson, saw he wasn't on their level, and quit, rather than work 2x harder. When the stakes are high, he's a quitter. He'll do the same at the Games. Pace wrong, lose his composure, self sabotage. Jay has the most talent, not a champion in the head. 4th place
