About time Jimmy. Prediction: You will use your one wheel less and less as you become proficient on Eucs. You will own 3-5 different eucs in the next three months. You will sell none. You will hunger for more speed and range and will seek to satisfy those pangs. Once you get a taste of how much the world opens up to you with your eucs, there will be no substitute. Welcome to the glide life.

You've been warned accurately! Get out now or there is no going back, once you've caught the EUC bug. I have had 10+ wheels, kind of stopped keeping count, selling and buying as newer models come out. I've had or tried most models from Ninebot, King Song, and InMotion. I currently have a King Song KS-18XL, GotWay MSX, and Ninebot One Z10, although I find I am riding almost exclusively the King Song 18XL over any others. The Onewheel XR (their best model for $1799) has an optimal range of 12-18 miles. The KS-18XL ($2250 with the newer 10 inch pedals and a 2nd charger) has that for breakfast, with easily a range of 60+ miles.

@@jorgebatista425 Well, can't say we didn't try! Judging by how fast Jimmy learned it, which was very impressive, I think we are way too late. I see another EUC in his future. The GotWay Nikola is coming right up, followed by the King Song 16X. I'll probably end up with both of them, damn it! Although I have a feeling I will prefer the 16X over the Nikola. That's the way it is--riding and enjoying what I've got, but always planning the next wheels. I've been letting go of my older models, while they still had value, to make some room for the newer ones. I'll miss them, but they just weren't getting any more use!

Overall I think EUC is a lot more versatile, but onewheel is more chill and more fun to carve on. Also you can’t stand still on an EUC like you can on a onewheel, you constantly have to keep moving. Good job learning, although you did it the hardest way possible, which is learning to get your second foot onto a pedal into open space. There is a far easier method to learning, which I just happen to teach! Perfect choice for a first EUC--I rode a King Song KS-16S myself for a year, although by then I owned several others. The 16S is comfortably designed, feature filled, excellent quality, the right size, and amount of power to learn and develop your EUC skills. My current favorite wheel is the King Song KS-18XL. If you are getting along well with your 16S, the 18XL is the ideal upgrade, but if you never feel like exceeding the speed of the 16S, you've already got your wheel.

Also a big fan of the hard case you recommended for potential future air travel, which was also a big factor in deciding between a OW or EUC since most EUCs have too hefty a battery to travel with. EUC requires mounting a mirror on the helmet, as turning the head 180degrees to check traffic can be dangerous. I owned a Ninebot Z10 and did not like how it handled the hills in my neighborhood. I ended up selling the Z10 on eBay to a guy in Fairbanks, and buying a Lacroix. EUCs are an amazing experience... If I had the choice between carving on a EUC vs a OneWheeel XR, I would choose the latter. Some of your videos about the Onewheel helped convince me to buy a OW about a month ago, and as of 2 days before this EUC video released, I also bought an EUC and started learning. I’m already certain that my EUC Will replace my onewheel. I’m terrified of nosedives, and as cool as the OW idea is, I think the protrusion of the board in the direction of travel will always be a problem for OW’s design. In my mind, Onewheel exists less for viability, and more for simulating the feeling of boarding sports. Another reason I’m choosing an EUC is that Riding forward facing works better with the natural symmetry in my body, where as the OW keeps my hips, spine and neck twisted in one direction for long periods of time, which Seems like it would develop A-symmetry in my body over time. Great Video! Can’t wait to see how you progress.

My first real unicycle!(first one was a cheap plastic one as a kid kzitem.infoUgkx4e2fa6x27dF7shCelntq0ZIKt4N0jELI I never learned to ride)So, this is a true learner, and for a C note, exactly what was needed. After a few weeks, I'm able to easily ride up and down the street. The Good: Solid frame. Has absorbed numerous spills through learning and still solid. Look - great looks, after 6 weeks of bashing Weight - it's really all tire, but as I fall I can easily grab the seat so it doesn't slam the ground. Size - Very adjustable. I'm 6', 33" inseam. I put it mostly up, but could go a bit higher if I needed to. The Bad: Not sure if it's out of the norm, but seat got scraped up quickly. Pedals - they are a bit uncomfortable and I can't get the right feel on my feet. But, they are solid and haven't been damaged at all as I've seen in reviews on other cycle's.- To address one comment about the seat connection not straight. Huh? Seat is on a round pole, you just turn it and it's straight. Either of the bad I expected to replace once I improved. I'd recommend to anyone else in the learning phase.

You chose a difficult order to learn how to ride EUC. You can change the order so that you are only learning one new skill at a time. First use a wall or a rail for support and use that to mount and rock back and forth to get an idea of how the EUC moves. Then with one foot on, do a few steps and stop, to learn how to stop and step off without dropping the EUC. Next use the wall to mount, launch, and do short rides. Eventually move away from the wall, and as you did in your video, steer into the fall by arm flailing, flail left to steer right and vice versa. Find an area large enough that you feel comfortable with more speed. I got a V8F about 3 weeks ago, my first EUC, and a cover so the V8F wouldn't get scratched up from bailing off and dropping it. For the V8F, at about 6 to 8 mph, it becomes much more stable. This is because leaning the EUC causes it to steer, and at this speed, if you start to fall and lean the EUC the same as your body, the steering response is close enough to correct the fall to make it stable. I then worked on leaning forwards | backwards for speed control, and tilt (move inside foot down, outside foot up) steering, tilting the EUC so that it steers you instead of you steering the EUC. I also improved my stops so I could stop leaving one foot on the EUC and not grabbing it, although this isn't a needed skill at this point. The last step was to learn free mount (no support), which I did on a soccer field, my first time on grass. Since I already knew how to ride, I was only learning how to free mount. Rather than learn one foot glide, I just stepped 2 or 3 times and hopped on. Now it's just a case of improving my turning skills so I'm making fewer and smaller mid-turn corrections, and later learning how to tilt steer for tighter turns at slower speeds, although with a 16 inch wheel, it's not going to turn as tight as a MTen3 with it's 10 inch wheel.

I think that your video is very nice but I disagree with the speakers as I’m regularly witness people especially in nice quiet city parks polluting tranquility with loud music on their wheels. I mean music taste does vary and what some people like, others dislike and then there are the people which like to walk the park peacefully while enjoying the sounds of nature. That’s also why I find that wireless earbuds are one of the best inventions. Everybody can listen to it’s music without annoying other people.

Hi Jimmy, thanks for the video. I keep thinking between the OneWheel and the EUC. I've seen many video of your riding both of them. May I ask which one do you think is safer? Or less injury even though you fall? And is the Pine version of OneWheel has function to prevent the nose dipping? Thanks a lot.

Watch my onewheel vs EUC videos. In short, I have yet to have a bad injury on my EUC. I've had many injuries from the onewheel.

Only problem I have with an EUC is how awkward it looks when you ride it. The onewheel looks like snowboarding and then the EUC looks like your taking a dump😂

The riding position just looks so awkward and unintuitive compared to OneWheel... got 2 Pints on the way for my wife and I, going to be a fun summer. Not trying to hate, hope you have a blast with that thing... I'd rather ride in a boarding stance
@freshlycharged
5 жыл бұрын
The Pints are going to be sweet! Let me know how it goes. I agree, sideways stance has a cool factor to it, but when riding for 20-30 miles at a time, forward stance is definitely more comfortable. Try the sideways stance for 18 miles... pain in the neck. Literally.

Question Jim, is the King song app really necessary to work that unicycle that you bought because I'm not somebody who uses a cell phone on a daily basis actually I'm a person that doesn't use it at all and so I see a lot of these devices are being attached to people's personal cell phones and I wonder is there any room in there for me who doesn't use it to get a device like the unicycle that you have to ride?

Personally I think that euc are way better than One wheel. One wheel is first of all way over priced and more dangerous to ride than euc, plus the rage on one wheel is childish compared to euc,...✌️

Great video, Jimmy! I have been doing EUC for over 4 years now. I upgraded from my KS14C to the KS18L a year ago. The power and speed on my KS18L is amazing! With the 18 inch wheel, I have gone over potholes and uneven terrain that would have thrown me off on my previous 14 inch EUC. I also ride with eboarders and I have become interested in the OneWheel. Our NYC EUC group (NYC E-riders) just did the NYC Summer Streets EUC meetup ride a couple weeks ago. Eboarders and EUCers were there. Come join us sometime! kzitem.info/news/bejne/lZufn5mKg2uVlXY

Outdoors is the place to practice not indoors. It’s easier to pick up some speed and that helps with balancing a lot. You need to be able to roll 100 feet and most indoor spaces aren’t big enough for that. Also don’t punch over or go to slow otherwise you tip over.
