Joe don’t feel guilty about taking time off from R&R, you deserve it and I am sure all the R&R guys would agree. Great video, nice to see restoration work on these old warbirds. Keep up the good work 👍 🇬🇧🇺🇸

Joe, you should not feel guilty taking some R&R from Rebuild Rescue. Thanks for sharing a very nice video on the Douglas A-26 Invader medium bomber restoration. Looks like they are restoring it back to its original WWII configuration. These were used in not only WWII, but also in Korea and Vietnam. Great job getting that 2,000 horsepower Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp air-cooled radial engine installed on the A-26's left engine nacelle. That engine is a beast. Its a great feeling getting your hands on a piece of aviation history and be a part of its restoration team. I too have restored a few warbirds myself when I volunteered at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. I had a friend of mine that owned a flying example of a Republic P-47D Thunderbolt fighter plane that I use to maintain for him. It was always fun starting up that Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine, taxiing the plane out to the runup area, run the engine up and perform mag checks. Those were fun times that I always cherish. Take care and enjoy your vacation.

I'm always astounded at the amount of labor and detail that goes into making a plane airworthy. RESPECT! Not exactly a "kick back and relax" kind of vacation, but it looked like an awesome experience. Beautiful countryside. Stay safe. ☮

Dude!!!! So nice, in fact, so AWESOME. Getting 'to work' on an A-26 Invader (later B-26), (another Classic from Douglas Aircraft) what a great way to spend your vacation. Joe... I am a little envious... in a good way of course. When I first started Fire Fighting in the late 80's, I was stationed in the Canadian North and remember seeing one on the flightline that was retrofitted to do fire fighting/suppression missions. It was basically turned into a water/retardant bomber. I can clearly remember all the IA (Initial Attack) and Air Attack guys all standing around ogling it. Even the ol "Bird Dog" Officer was impressed. Talking w/ the flight crew was a howl. If memory serves it was not long after, the old gal was retired. Thanks for sharing Joe, and Thanks for that little trip down memory lane. Good Times. Take Care and a very Happy New Year to you and your Family. GS

Was this A26 airworthy and just getting an annual or is it being restored (you may have said but I forgot)? The small airport my dad used to fly out of had a very derelict A26 sitting there. As a kid I was tempted to try to get inside other then the hornets that lived in it. One day it was dismantled and sold off. It was suppose to have been shipped to the west coast but not sure how true that was. Part of me wonders if this may have been it.

Jason has been taking advantage of Joe’s work ethic this entire time. He lacks the credentials to work on or fly airplanes, so nothing actually gets rebuilt. The show is essentially a series of ads for ED pills, diet pills, and other supplements.
