The Beatles early music is so much more than just rock and roll and this is the pure example of that. And also, what a wonderful job they've done to create a tasteful yet soft piece! The harmonies gives me chill every time.
There is some debate on who played the acoustic guitar, some said it's Paul McCartney on acoustic guitar and overdubbed bass and others said it was John Lennon on the acoustic guitar. Both seem interesting to me but based on research, Paul McCartney didn't receive his Epiphone Texan till 1965 so it must be John Lennon on acoustic guitar. John uses an intricate strumming pattern when playing his Gibson J-160E to create an interesting sounding rhythm guitar.
George Harrison played a super tasteful, simple and soothing fingerstyle lead guitar part on his Gretsch Tennessean, which I spend months trying to master it. Like I said on my other videos, the most simplest and tasteful guitar riffs are actually the hardest to master. I spent a few takes recording the lead guitar part and it did not sound bad at all. George overdubbed a guitar solo but this time he used both pickup positions and played on the pick. Again, I recorded the solo seperately like he did and it didn't sound bad at all.
Ringo just tapped on his knee for percussion, knowing that this type of percussion suits are more softer vibe. He is proof that drums and percussion can be made soothing, not just for fast and intense rock music.
Guitars and bass recorded by me and percussion by Ryohei Kanayama.
