Renewable energy sources, by definition, come from naturally recurrent, auto-replenishing processes, and gas is a fossil energy source that will not be replenished in our lifetimes or indeed many, many human lifetimes. The main compound of natural gas, methane, is a strong greenhouse gas contributing to 3% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the United States, for perspective. Also, the processes associated with natural gas sourcing and drilling are environmentally problematic. When geologists seek out natural gas deposits on land, their vehicles frequently upset area vegetation. Air pollution and community disturbances are direct outgrowths of well drilling operations, and natural gas production can result in contaminated water that has to be carefully managed. Sometimes natural gas is produced but has a high concentration of toxic hydrogen sulfide or other problems deeming it unsuitable for transport or sale. In these cases, natural gas is burned or “flared” at well sites, producing CO2 and many other compounds. Still, CO2 is not as potent a greenhouse gas as methane, making flaring marginally better than releasing natural gas into the air.

Gary Vee talks a lot about the "gift" of growing up poor as a child of immigrants. It forces a "hustle" mentality for the family and the kids learn it too (work hard or don't eat). I grew up in a typical middle class white family and if I am being honest, I feel comfortable, but complacent and hard to stay motivated. Don't get me wrong, I don't wish my family was poor, but I wish I had an inherited "hustle" in my blood. RAFA MARTINEZ IS CONTRIBUTING TO THE RAPID DESTRUCTION OF OUR PLANET. He's investing in NATURAL GAS... Natural gas is not renewable energy.

Thank you for making this video and introduced me to Rafa. He's such a humble and down to earth person despite having everything at his fingertips. He's so generous and I cannot sense a single cockiness moment during the interview. From this day, he's now one of successful persons that I look up to. I'm doing trading now and very well have deep interest in cars and racing, I can find some similarities here and there. Now for me, to work hard and smart and make my dreams become a reality, and give back to communities and loved ones -- just like Rafa does. Thank you Noah and Rafa. Appreciate your sharing

He trades in oil. So probably he just didn't sell. He lost 60 million of value but then when oil prices spiked after Biden made it difficult to drill and shut down the pipeline and blew up the other one, all that value came back and surpassed the previous value.

What Rafa said about his covid trade where he was down 60 mil then up 180 mil makes sense. We had a stock in Australia called afterpay drop approx 80 % during the covid crash . If you had shorted it you would have made good money however if you had bought it at the lows and held to the all time highs you would have made 10 x your money !

Fantastic interview Noah. Rafa impresses me in many ways. As a teacher, I love his message to find what you are good at, and that also that kids should, whenever possible, earn the things they are fortunate to have. Keep up the great work!
@alterego157

You're not good at anything when you start. We're all born clueless. It takes us a while just to learn not to shit and piss right where we stand. My advice to kids is you can learn anything, and you can become good at just about anything. If you're struggling with learning, you just need a better learning method or a better teacher. This is not a jab at you. just speaking from personal experience. Teaching is an art on its own, highly undervalued. Unfortunately.

I've heard this question answering "becoming a millionaire advice" many many times, but Rafa nailed it so well. 42:22 It's so true, I just love to see people in their element....super passionate about their work... its intoxicating. Almost all of them are either very happy, rich or sometimes both doing happy and rich doing that work. A person who is creative and arty should NEVER get a job working with numbers. Not only does it crush your soul, you will never earn a million dollars like the next person who loves working with numbers. Likewise, a person great at numbers shouldn't try to be the next Picasso.

also possible the interviewer thinks he's legit, and this guy has some fancy word salad into how he has this kind of wealth. Same kind of vibes as Mikki. I can relate to Rafa. I was a migrant to the US as a little kid as well, thank god not due to war. But I remember at our elementary school in NJ there were kids that came that were refugees from El Salvador. I remember this one girl named Maria that was put in my class. She used to cry all the time. Her parents sent her to live with friends that were in the US. I felt so bad for her. I was the only one she spoke to as we both spoke Spanish. I remember that there used to be a name, that I cant remember now, for these refugee kids. His story is amazing. How you can come from war, leave everything behind then succeed, truly inspiring.
