Thanks for posting. Christmas Eve, 1951. Sure that a lot of families were together and gearing up for the big day tomorrow. And 5 of my cousins (ages 2-5) were anticipating a visit from Santa Claus.

72 years on and this show plays as strong as its premiere in 1951.

Jerry Hausner, who played Ricky's agent in the earliest episodes, was also the show's announcer (until he got into a shouting match with Desi Arnaz during the filming of one of the episodes); he was replaced by Roy Rowan

Those are not the real end credits from 1951. This is the syndicated version of the end credits from the 60’s. The real end credits have a pack of Phillip Morris cigarettes behind the rolling credits with the original closing theme, which is the one heard in the later syndicated versions. For the first 2 seasons, at least the ending theme music was always the same. The end theme music differed from episode to episode on the reruns starting in the 60’s.

According to my research, it says that the announcer was Bob LeMond.

It sounds like him. The original closing annoucement went like this: "'I LOVE LUCY' is a *DESILU* production! Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz will be back next week, at this same time. Tune in to Philip Morris' 'RACKET SQUAD'- Thursday night, over most of these stations! For delayed telecasts, consult your newspaper for the time and station in your area."
