I had a shaft seal installed last year on my boat and they put a couple of seals on the shaft on the motor end so that if it ever went bad again they could cut the old one off and just slide the new one into position and only a couple of minutes time with the boat in the water. I haven’t had to do it yet but it will basically save a bunch of money and yard time if the problem ever happens again

I am so serious when I say that your videos are so amazing! Like I’m an old dude and I miss wholesome television. It just doesn’t seem to exist anymore! Kind of like Little House on the Prairie. Where Charles and his family adventure in the wild frontier and show us life in the wild. No foul language, raw and real but clean and wholesome, love you all!!!!❤❤❤

Amen. Where on the TV can you find non political, family friendly adventure entertainment, without artificial drama added in? All those years of scripted "reality" TV, and it is so much more gratifying watching actual real people live a good and fulfilling life. If TV execs had any sense, there'd be a channel with just the top KZitem sailing channels, 24/7. It would be the most relaxing thing on TV.

Back in my younger days I did boat recovery on the local lake. A guy called and had sunk his 32 foot two masted sailboat. It was new and just put in the water. Asked him why it sunk, he did not know. After recovered I heard water running, looked in the bilge and the prop shaft seal was leaking. Dove under the boat and the gland nut had not been screwed up on the seal. He was hard of hearing and never heard the water running.

Boats are a work in progress, they are never "finished". I just go all Zen with it and embrace it as part of the experience. The big advantage of doing the majority of the work yourselves is you know this boat better than anyone and have the skills and ability to do most of the repairs and upgrades yourself. Thanks for the video. Repair On! 🙂

First I think you sped up time for this video, interesting, fun, informative! Second and most important…… including the baby in the projects is so important. She will form a strong bond with you both, later she will be well adjusted for everyday events, like work, problem solving and getting things done in a timely manner. It will help her become independent and self made. Great job mom and dad. As always thank you have fun be safe and see you next week!

I will never forget the episode when you talking about the riggers guide, or what ever it was ..it was like…if it can fowl or catch it always will… every time I take a rope, or anything grabs onto a random other thing…. I always think of Jordan talking about in that episode … as it’s so true. In other words.. if it can go wrong it will, if it can be hard it always will… thank God when those really hard projects go easy.

Hey Jorden, when working projects that are”stuck”, don’t forget to try heat(heat gun) or even ice depending on the material and/or situation. With heat just remember to protect other parts/materials next to or behind. But, that said, PB blaster is a great item. AND, navel jelly for rust! Y’all stay safe and healthy ⛵️🇺🇸

Another great project completed. Belzona is a good choice. I understand the not wanting to put holes in the hull. The shaft work and new seal should give you a respite until one can do the shaft swap. One thing is for sure, keeping up with the maintenance issues along the way is a must. Good decisions shows the due diligence needed. I can say one thing Jordan, I've had many a apprentice under my tutelage over the years who have gone on to be very competent tradesman but you show good work ethic and decision making in all of your publizied videos. You are a great asset to and for your family's well being. Be safe.

The risky part about having a damaged shaft is that you could have cracks start to form there and then have a complete failure at some point in the future. You might want to put a new shaft on your list of things to do in the coming year.
