I was 16 years old when this came out. I was a mess. I had alcoholic parents, my sister was married and moved away, I was alone and totally wanting to be loved and to love someone. This song is amazing. Tonight, I took my wife out to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. I found my Amanda.

I was a professional rock drummer in the late 60's and early 70's'. I'll never forget the first time I heard them (it was 'Peace of Mind' - still my favorite) ... it was an Epic experience! Saw them live as soon as possible and was amazed at how much the concert sounded exactly like the album. To this day, they're the most 'melodically versatile and precise' band I've ever heard. ✌ ^v^

I remember when this song was released, a LONG time after "more than a feeling", and it kinda got panned by the critics for being too much of a throwback style because it didn't fit in with the current style of music going round. Good point. Looking back, a lot of us, (I know I did), mistook the band's unique sound for just the sound of that era. I guess you have to be pretty iconic for people to make that mistake. But yeah, I remember this album feeling out of sync with what was going on at that time, so it did feel 'old,' like they weren't growing or something. But had I listened to it more like a Rolling Stones album, (which I never minded when it sounded like a Rolling Stones album), then I suspect this would have seemed less like clinging to past success, and more like another album by a band with an iconic rock sound.

This is my favorite Boston song and I first heard it in 1986, the year it was released. I was a teenager then and the song stuck in my memory forever because that was the best teenage year of my life. In 2009, when my youngest daughter was born, I named her after the song to remind myself of the beautiful memories of my favorite teenage year. It would be years that he would be working on producing an album and without doing the research, they were only on the Third Stage (third album) later in the 80's when I was in the military.
