I love you Canada is a Canadian ww1 song. The lyrics speak about Canadian soldiers fighting in Europe longing back for home. Like most patriotic ww1 songs, I love you canada is another great example of hiding the reality of fighting in ww1. Canadians were like the other dominions and British holdings conscripted to fight on the british side in ww1. On estimate, 650.000 Canadians fought during ww1 with over 66.000 Canadian who didn't make it back home. Songs like this were part of extensive propaganda campaigns, seeking to motivate the general population to sign up for conscription.
