Can you automate the random slider?
@HOLLASOUNDS
Жыл бұрын
You can automate anything on most Reason device's and everything else can be modulated from device mod matrix on the devices or from a Combinator.
@bomubomuboi
Жыл бұрын
I don’t think so, the random function is more of a sound design tool. However in the mod matrix you can route an on-note random value to anything in the synth, as well as using a random lfo or using a cv in or latched cv in as a random value generator. If you want randomness in your patch you can definitely get there
@rikkshow
Жыл бұрын
I was kind of thinking of having a morph function like in FM8, and you automate and change the sound over time. Building it in the mod matrix is hard as it may result in a dozen+ targets.

I really like all the possibilities of Objekt as a synth and as a sound design tool, but I feel that it sounds very "plastic", especially when it comes to the string sounds. It's the same thing with Friktion, it sounds very expressive but I always have to add warmth and saturation with other tools. And the "guitar" presets are so horrible. I'll probably get it when it goes a bit cheaper but I guess I was expecting more realistic organic sounds.
@whitenoisestudio
Жыл бұрын
If you want to get more realism, you need to start adding automation and movement by hand. I'd say that's about half of a realistic sound.
@oblikua
Жыл бұрын
@@whitenoisestudio Well, the automation part I understand and I even think that both Objekt and Friktion sound realistic in terms of expression and dynamics. It's just the sound quality, it sounds too..."thin" for lack of a better word. Kinda like when you hear an analog synth and then a cheap digital imitation of it. I can sort of fix it with some saturation and even an IR from a bass cabinet to give it an extra boom to the low end, and at the end of the day, it still is a digital synth, so maybe I'm just asking too much for 100 bucks. 😅

Reason Studios put a bad taste in my mouth when they created the Reason+ subscription, started aggressively promoting that, and decided to eliminate Reason Suite in favor of pushing people to a subscription. Just like any physical modelling synth, each brand has it's strengths & weaknesses and in the case of Objekt( the plucks, bells, e.pianos and especially the drums..are utterly fantastic.) Whereas the synth pads are garbage( & cannot even hold a candle to that of AAS's Ultra Analog VA-3.) Perhaps though....the pad sounds are piss-poor, due to lousy sound design(but I must say however, the drums in Objekt alone, are worth the price of this Rack Ext.)
