@@the1trueblackgod812 ur right about Alice's dad not being shown but Mrs Gibson mentions his bad back in "Funny Money." But lots of characters are mentioned but never seen (RKs grandparents, Aunt Sarah, Norton's mother in law, etc.) As for a man coming home to see his wife talking to another man, happened to my Dad all the time. @@marcweissman5752. Okay, " lots of characters are mentioned but never seen..." That maybe so, but don't you think that so vital a character as one of the cast's father, not be shown? I might understand if the father was never mentioned to begin with, but to mention him and not show in all 39 episodes, shows a faux pas on the part of the writers. As for a man " coming home to see his wife talking to another man," I find that UNBELIEVABLE. Before I proceed, you might define what you mean by TALKING. If the man is a relative or the 'talk' is business-related, it might be acceptable per the circumstance. It is totally INAPPROPRIATE for a man, and dangerous I might add, for an outside man to visit the home of a married woman for a 'talk' socially, not to mention INAPPROPRIATE for a married woman to entertain male guests socially while her husband is away. This is not my opinion, but UNIVERSAL TRUTHS and not a matter up for debate. i will not be making any further comments on this.

Art Carney always does those 4 introductory music notes of "Dragnet" (at 1:10) whenever he is caught doing something he knows Ralph won't like! Nobody does it better, and Art is still the best comedy support actor in tv history! Jackie was asked how much Art's character contributed to the laughs and success of "The Honeymooners." Jackie proved how great he was in not only being gracious which is exceedingly rare in competitive Hollywood actors, and extremely complimentary in his answer as the comedy lead: "at least 90%!" Ever hear any lead actor give such credit to a co-worker on the success of the series they were on? Art was not only a great comic actor, he could do serious drama roles, as evidence by his 1975 Academy Award for Best Actor in his "Harry and Tonto" (1974) film. Richly deserved, and I was so glad he won to show how terrific he was in his craft! He lived to be 85, in Nov. 2003, and I was sad to hear he was gone. But he will never be forgotten for the laughs and joy he gave us, same for Jackie and Audrey.

I love the "Honey Mooners"! One of the greatest sitcoms of all time! The only thing I notice is Ralph was like Elvis before Elvis! They were dying his hair coal black!!
