DO NOT DO GIG WORK, unless you have a car that is PAID OFF. I didn’t realize people are actually doing that.
@m3m683
The sad thing is many dashers think they're being smart by maximizing their miles or justify it as "it takes money to make money". The IRS is many things but they aren't stupid or generous, dashers didn't outsmart them or find a glitch in the system with the mileage deduction that's the IRS saying hey we aren't going to TAX you (their only job), because your costs to operate were $x so that's money you lost. Like you said every dasher eventually pays the price, gig work is nothing more than a payday loan against your car.
@michaelslifecycle
They also don’t tell you that you probably won’t be getting orders if you’re parked and you need to keep moving around to get orders. This will use more mileage and mileage that is not paid for.
@Catalyst21mars
Why would people DD?? You have to use your own car, pay for maintenance, fuel, basically your Door Dashes cheap server!! Your better off waiting tables
@michaelcoe7450
We need a class action lawsuit against Doordash
@sarahandy9981
This video has taught me that I need to find another job and stop this DoorDash Uber Eats bullshit. I've been doing this job for 6 years and it's a completely different experience than it used to be. It makes me sad cuz I really enjoy doing it but the money just isn't there anymore and we're way too oversaturated with drivers my market. Sending love from Los Angeles 💜💛
@bcp1987
Not to be a negative Nancy but, the expenses you estimate are way off. $500 for brakes is insane! and 1000 for tires is also insane! Why buy the best of the best if you're gonna replace then every year (assuming you drive over 40k miles) just my 2 cents!
@VWJR86
We put 38k miles on our brand new Tiguan last year, but that was solely vacations. I dont think about resale value, we bought it to drive it 🤷♂️
@jasonmacaro4052
$25 an hour isnt even that good let alone having to use your own car and take out money for taxes. It doesnt seem worth it to me.
@thestaticisreal
So basically $1/mile is not enough in 2024
@LeslieC37
I have a pretty good full time job already and door dash was just away that I could make some extra money on my days off. As expensive it is to live, I don't care who you are everyone can use extra money nowadays. I realized quick that I was running my car into the ground and it wasn't worth it. Thanks for talking about this topic cause them miles add up quick.
@RD-ce6bb
This is why you should never ever do low ball offers to keep your A/R up.
@blakkjack21
I'm watching this video with you "exposing" DD and what do I see??? An ad for signing up to drive for DD! Incredible!
@DummyDanzDummyAdultFun2024
My relationship with DD ended for good at 9.10pm today. Never again and i advise every one of you to also quit. Ill be explaining in a video this weekend. Blessing to each of you-
@datmixednut1254
You will soon see a class action lawsuit and a nice amount of money being deposited into your account, just like Lyft !
@GaugedHonor
We need some lawyers on this.
@Ranbutch75
I’m fed up with this crap. I’ve only been dashing since last June. Time to look for something else.
@brolikpitts5607
You truly clarified and covered all angles on this one.This is the most informative video on DoorDash I've ever came across and is epic in more ways than one.I can guarantee %80 of Dashers didn't know the information you just
@tomcowboy1529
You are 100 percent correct! DD is abusing our rights as IC. Have been since day one. They use the phrase to skirt employer/employee taxes. They also are gauging the drivers out of there pay. DD is charging the customer for delivery from $6 to $10 dollars per delivery. But all they want to pay you is $2.00 per delivery. Additionally due to the current inflation, tips are few and far between as people really can’t afford to tip like they should.
@AndyMorrisArt
You are so smart. A lot of people never bother to crunch all the numbers calculate all of their expenses.
