First non-Indoeuropean language for you. Could be thought of as a brave step. But you are a confident language learner and can handle the challenge, I’m sure! 😊

Thank you so much for your positive words :). That motivates me even more to do it. It feels already rewarding, and I can relate much better to others learning more difficult languages.

Of all the languages I've ever learned, the Turks in Turkey and Germany were by far the most curious and happy that I was learning their language. They seemed so happy when people were interested in their language and culture. In both places, I was given free tea or food several times because they wanted to thank me for learning their language and taking an interest in their culture, even if I wanted to pay for it (they are very strong minded and did not let me). My native language is Mandarin, and Turkish grammar is very different from Mandarin, but since I already speak Korean at an advanced level, Turkish grammar comes quite easily to me. Once you get the hang of these kind of grammar systems, the grammar makes so much sense, and it's really very practical and intelligent. Have fun! I look forward to your progress report.

Thank you so much for your comment, Yihwa. There are not many Germans, learning Turkish here... So it'll be for sure a surprise. I've already heard about the grammar being quite different, but it'll be an adventure, and it's always great to learn new stuff. I would really like to tackle also one day an Asian language, but one step at a time :). So cool that you've learned Turkish. Will keep you posted on my progress. Have a great day!

I look forward to following your progress with Turkish, as it’s on my list to tackle one day too. I’d be especially interested in hearing your thoughts on the Assimil Turkish course and the Story Learning course you referred to in the video if you end up using those.

Okay here's my input as much as I love Italy. I had to put my Italian progress in favour of Japanese. I consider learning languages that fit those criteria. A. I like the language x but it's useless= I might learn it. B. I hate the language x but it's useful= I won't learn it. C. I like the language x and it's useful. 100% I'll learn it. So I would learn languages from category A and then after I mastered them I would start learning C. Meanwhile I'll omit B.

Hm, thanks for the interesting comment. But why don't you focus first on C and then move to A? In the end, we have anyway only so much time... :( So it's not possible to learn all the languages we would like to learn, unfortunately.

@@halleluyah8241 thank you so much :). That's what I always really like, is to get to know people from other cultures, just to see that we are all not that different. For now, I will stick to working on my comprehension, but at some point there will be lots of speaking activities of course ;).
