Anecdote (unsure if sillygoofy): I was on a quest on Friday (failed on most counts, but that’s the nature of quests) when it started raining. Normally, I love to be fully caught in the rain and just wander around, but I had more to do later on and getting on the subway while wet is kinda gross. I didn’t want to go into the library where I was heading yet (dampness reasons) and I didn’t want to get drenched, so I went into Bryant Park and found an one of those big, always open umbrellas with a chair under it. Then, I listened to the rain (one of my quests was for replacement headphones, so I had to be auditorially present in the real world all day. Normally, I would have been doing phone stuff, but it was wonderful to put it aside for a bit). There were rolls of long thunder and the umbrella, part of a cluster of similar ones, kept off the rain drops but not mist; it was like a saltless sea spray! And the best thing was the smell… wet stones that had been warm all morning, oak trees and the trimmed greens beneath, and the rain itself on everything….. I’d buy that fragrance in heartbeat if someone could bottle it. And then later on I met a friend for soup dumplings. So it was all pretty nice, despite the various other mishaps in the day. Thank you for making videos and letting us into a little piece of your life- it’s a delight. OH also I highly recommend crocheting. It’s good for the hands and brain, portable in a big enough bag, and extremely compatible with audiobooks and podcasts

I also always carry a bag with me everywhere, if I don't have immediate access to water the second I feel thirsty or lipbalm the second my lips start to feel dry I will get ANXIOUS. A friend gave me her old cargo pants last year and yesterday I went outside without a bag and with my headphones, hand sanitizer, keys, phone, wallet, gum, lipgloss, lipbalm, sunglasses and a whole water bottle shoved into the side pockets. Not the most comfortable but it worked. Also I've rewatched a lot of your makeup related videos from 2019-ish as well as a lot of other stuff 'cause I'm getting more into makeup so I would be very excited about the makeup videos coming back

4:25 sure! i love librarians SO much. recently my family has saved up just enough money to visit Italy. one of my goals was to visit a library there, and since the national one Florence is not open to tourists right now, we decided to go to a little one near where we're staying. i can't speak any Italian, but i had been practicing how to say "i like the library" for the whole day, and after i was done reading a children's book that i couldn't understand, i went to the front desk and told the librarian "mi piace la biblioteca!" and she laughed and said thank you, and then told my dad -who can actually speak Italian- "i heard them whispering that to themself since they got here" and i felt to silly, but it was fun.

So all our dads are just dead?? Love ur trout btw. I typed a whole ass paragraph about needing to remember emotional discomfort doesn't just stack up with no way to resolve it, and how sadness/fear of messing up/feeling stupid for going against your initial judgement about going out to gather experiences can be mended by taking breaks & telling your friends when you are worn out or overwhelmed, and how people don't have a set amount of happiness and a set amount of emotional telomeres (if ykwim) before you get seriously mentally unwell that you have to protect (because your happiness and mental wellness is sort of like spoon theory but with positive and negative emotions instead of gaining energy and losing energy instead of happiness/mental wellbeing being like a limited resource)... But it was schlocky so I deleted it. But I understand the idea because I have depression too and sometimes I'm afraid to do stuff that could drag me into stress and therefore worse depression. Anyways, I love you and your videos. I know around fathers day is tough for you so do some things that help you feel better.
