Practice as much as you can, but also make sure to go back to all of those questions you have gotten wrong on UWORLD and AAMC material and make sure you remember how to get them right and why you got them wrong in the first place. I assure you that most of your points on test day come from learning as best as possible from the mistakes made during practice. Also, cram in a lot of Anki, especially for psyc/soc, since it is the section with the most memorization.

Colombians and latinos in general I believe do count as URM since the ORM's are typically white and asian populations. I don't think there is a box in the AMCAS application where you self claim yourself as URM, however, in the demographics section you do get to select race/ethnicity/and nationality. Good luck during your application cycle.

@@JasonKrastein GPA is 3.95. I get my mcat score back next week and hoping for 510+. We’ll see how far it takes me. @@daredare111 First off, congrats on such a strong GPA and hopefully strong MCAT. Those stats will allow you to get past the initial screening for most if not all medical schools. You got this first of all!! Thanks for the good wishes as well. I think second year is perhaps the hardest year in premed besides the application cycle during the summer. I would say focus on building a cohesive application, a story that makes sense and is in accordance with your interests. For example, I was really passionate about teaching and interacting with my college community through TA'ing and I made sure to really push this interest and was able to TA over 6 semesters for different classes. Also, don't sleep on the clinical experience, both as a tool to figure out if you like medicine and as a credential to stand out amongst applicants when you start applying.
