Nah, Greta tried to make this as "Ken bad, matriarchy good". I love the song and how the message got turned on it's head, how Barbie somehow became a movie about men being ignored and invisible, but let's not kid ourselves-the director wanted the whole opposite of this. Meanwhile, I hope Gosling gets oscar after oscar on every category he might apply to, this song brought me into the feeling that, really, he's literally me.

@@enriquejoseantequerasanche6180There‘s no way you watched the movie lol, the matriarchy and patriarchy were both shown to be bad. That‘s literally the whole point! You‘re supposed to feel bad for the Kens and how they were treated. It‘s a reflection and satire of how that was women‘s reality just a few decades ago (Just being accessories to men with no purpose other than being there for their men). And the movie doesn‘t make you hate men at all. In fact Ryan Gosling’s performance was endearing and every girl I know loved Ken. How can you take a clear parody/exaggeration of the world with wholesome messages so seriously? Our theater was just laughing and singing along with the kens. It was a good time. Honestly the song is super validating. It's rare that guys get the chance to hear that they're good enough, or just that what they're feeling is acceptable. You can name different times guys open up or are shown to be vulnerable, and they're ridiculed and laughed at, while with women, they're admired and given support. Just that idea that recognition is a lot for some folks.
