I am South African, and I think the rent you're paying is still high, what type of accommodation is that? I would die 😂😂😂😂 half that money can get you big, nice house, not even an apartment. Have you considered buying your own place in SA? With that rent money you can pay your own place off in 2 years or less. R4500 is still too much for food, for a single person, that could cover a family of 3 people.
@palesamogorosi8939
2 жыл бұрын
He said it's because of takeouts and dining in restaurants so hence the food amounted to that kind of money. Let's not forget Cape Town isn't cheap either. Also R4500 isn't that much honestly because food is also quite costly nowadays. If he can afford it then I guess he'll be fine. But yes, if he cooked then he'd probably spend a bit lesser.

My mother's mortgage isn't even R5000 ... I think you're spending an awful lot on rent, but Cape Town is expensive. And considering that you are from the USA, it's understandable. I can't really speak on entertainment and food because I never really go out that much and I, of course, have access to a full kitchen so I'm constantly cooking, with the exception of the occasional takeaway or dine-in at inexpensive restaurants.

Fine dinning, a steak meal was like $99 no drinks or dessert. I decided to live survive by eating McDonalds and Asian food every day. It was unbelievably expensive, but Americans told me it's because I was in Vegas. Apparently things get cheaper in other places.
