October 24, 1969...Grand Funk opened for Led Zeppelin, Cleveland Public Hall......I was seated in upper balcony....John Paul Jones side...

Is this the concert where Peter Grant, mngr for Zep, kicked GF off the stage because they had the crowd crazy. A riot ensued! Zeppelin was delayed for 1 1/2 hours and played to half an arena.

I like the way you've explained this total 70s classic...and that SJ200 really works for this song; it has a fabulous tone...my older one didnt sound as good as that one...

It took me 40 friggin years to learn that it was Cadd9 and not C and I knew it didn’t sound right but didn’t know what to do about it. Thankfully along came the World Wide Web. I have the Closer to Home music book(for guitar and piano and it cost a whopping $1.95!) and it shows a C chord. GFR was the greatest band ever to a fifteen year old. Got to see them live in ‘74.

There is a good Howard Stern from 4 months or so and they sing this. You taught it very well. I wish I could sing 😩

That’s awesome… I’m 52 and right with ya… enjoy it…. The key for me was not letting my guitar get dusty… I play daily, even if it’s just for 10 minutes… just pick it up and I guarantee you will be amazed…. Learning is never done… It’s a journey… 🙂🫡

Thanks for another great instructional video. I saw Grand Funk perform this and other songs at the Cincinnati Summer Pop Festival at Crosley Field in 1970. There were many other bands including Mountain and Traffic, but GFR was at their peak and rocked the F****ing house.

Wow, you were most fortunate to see them in those years. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched Farner and the boys rocking Shea Stadium in ‘69 or so. Unbelievable energy and balls from those guys. Simply epic!
