my wife talked me into the scrap game in the beginning it was really good money and it paid off my truck early and then I got hit with als so she and her son scrap on the weekends praying for the price to go back up.

Sorry to hear about that, but it's good you have such a motivated wife! I don't pay attention to the prices too much. I just bring it in when ever I have it.

what is number 3 copper?
@uberism81
7 жыл бұрын
no.3 is a bit tricky. Some yards call nickel coated copper no.3, but my yard doesn't. If you get roofing copper with lots of tar that could be no.3. It's like no.2, but with more trashed attached to it.
@NotSoCrazyNinja

Your setup is unrealistic. Where I live (in the USA) there is no way to get that much stuff in the way you do. All the HVAC companies do their own scrapping so you will never get anything from them. You can't put "collection bins" anywhere because everything will get stolen. Anywhere stuff wouldn't get stolen, they won't allow you to put the bins. Around here it seems your best bet is to ride around on trash day and hope for the best or maybe make friends with some apartment maintenance people so they will inform you of apartment cleanouts and hope to find something.

Those slide pins on the brake calipers can be cleaned and regreased and reused for not much effort, or you can find new pins. The calipers also can be rebuilt for cheap also but require a bit more patience, there are o ring kits for sale.

just to make you bit jealous ther a new scrapyard who just open like 30min from my place but they buy iron at 270$ton!!! ...compare to 200 my usual scrapyard i dont know if they just did soo to get new customers to begin maybe they will drop it after a while but for sure im going to try it this week ...i realy dont understand why price is soo different you are not that far from my place ...near mtl...anyway keep on if i could make a little suggestion you rly already do a realy nice job but if you could say how much time it took for sale ( like how many day youre listing ) ... and i know you said you didnt mant to show for motor but could you make live testing make sure every little relay or capacitor are in working condition rly need to update to ebay its amaze me soo much sells that you do ...keep on it motivate me you rly do a good job
@uberism81

What 270?? that's crazy. What's the name of the yard? They must want to get peoples business so they're giving a better price. The best I can get is 150. I'll try and get the time each thing has been up for on ebay and show a couple tests on the motors too.

You do realize those A/C condensors have copper tubbing all the way through the aluminum fins and not just on the ends. Get a sawsal or reciprocating saw and cut the fins off.
@liveitlikeitloveall2746

Christopher Berg Nooo really, well I'm sure he's hasn't figured it out yet. I mean who would figure that them little copper noodles ya got to cut off the ends were connected to more copper. I reckon I thought it was copper colored plastic in there. I bet he was purrty surprised when he read your comment, yet aggravated that he done went off and cashed them sums ugh bitches in.

I thought AC unit coils are illegal unless you break down the copper and aluminum?
@uberism81
7 жыл бұрын
I've never heard of the coils being illegal. Maybe your thinking of the Freon gas inside of the unit?
@thedeafgenius
7 жыл бұрын
No. In Florida, you must have the original receipt for the whole unit even the coils themselves unless you break it down even more by separating the copper tubes from the aluminum fins. This applies for 2 tons and bigger uints. Window ac radiators are accepted though.
