I think it would be such a cool idea if you live streamed your daily work sessions. It would also feel a lot less lonely as a solopreneur having a virtual work buddy on my screen haha.

It is an absolute mindfield when you are new and so much to learn but now seeing someone like yourself go through the actual day of it, is perfect! Keep it up.. The engagement you would receive from these types of videos I could only imagine end up being huge!! Well done and thank you :)

@@VanessaLau Namely reformatting the text you had onscreen from horizontal > vertical/inserting it over your VO! Wow so you did a month worth of content in 2 days? Amazing girl!! Can you do a beginners version? Like for someone who doesn't have b-roll saved, no story posts but they want to get started on making consistent short form videos? Also, how do you come up with your captions?
@VanessaLau
4 ай бұрын
YA! I was so surprised! very happy with the result. for broll, i just take videos of myself doing random things (i like using the back camera on my iphone at 0.5 zoom out for a nicer effect) and save them to an album. i know at some point i might use it! and for content ideas, if you don't have story posts, then i'd look at comment sections (either of your own content or other peoples content - lots of gems there!) For captions, i dont have a specific process, i kind of just write on the spot what's on my mind similar to scripting! i do feel that talking heads don't need a long caption tho! hope that helps :)

Mindset tip: Whenever a specific event, or activity, "stresses you out", it's a trauma trigger. I would recommend to use the CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which I prefer calling Cognitive reappraisal, meaning providing a new meaning, or purpose, to whatever is causing the stress. The cognitive reappraisal MUST be accompanied by a new FEELING to replace the old stressful feeling. You can't simply "think" and then expect it to go away. So if Short form videos stress you out, be clear that it's connected to your past painful moment, face it be in the feeling of it. Then make peace with it by forgiving and UNDERSTANDING your past situation. Then grab the belief behind the feeling causing the stress and change the belief while in the moment that you are feeling the stress. Once you make the connection, the stress "should" goes away almost immediately because you gave the traumatic feeling no purpose or reason to keep you in that "fight or flight" experience. This makes your recovery much faster and makes you more productive without the negativity.
@astrea9279
4 ай бұрын
That's good advice! Too often people just say to use CBT techniques or positive focus bypassing the emotion linked to that trigger, which is the core of it. Shadow work + Belief reprogramming together work WONDERS ❤

@@astrea9279 You are on point. I had heated debates with ChatGPT because deep down I knew that we, as humans don't think logically. So ChatGPT led me in the neuroscience direction and then I just kept going down the deep end, while analyzing my own mindset and personal development. Personal development and mindset are connected because our emotions are connected with our cognitive mind. 2 different hemispheres connected to create our perception of self and our overall perception. So we think through biases and perceptions. That is the whole basis of my mindset strategy.

@@VanessaLau You are significantly ahead of the game. Regaining your skills and habits to work as effective as before is the least of your challenges. By overcoming the emotional challenge of your last experience is actually a blessing in disguise. Jenna does the same for me, she’s the best. Her prompt to tap into the rich content via archived storys gave me the idea to literally screen record some of my awesome, extensive storys. The screen record becomes a reel with some trending audio. It’s lazy I guess but it’s content. I’ll also recreate some raw media inspired by those as well. Thanks for this video Vanessa. I loved seeing how you’re applying the “start messy” mindset because I need to keep reminding myself of this.

This was an incredibly helpful and useful video! Thanks so much for taking us on a journey with you. It would be amazing if you could do something similar for batch long-form content - how do you plan it, how long it takes to film, coming up with hooks/thumbnails etc. It's interesting to see that even for big content creators like yourself, who have systems in place, it takes a long time and some hard work to get the content out! I always thought it gets faster and easier the more you do it.

I know this video isn’t getting as many views as your others, but I’ve watched it at least 5 times now. I LOVED this style of “tutorial” and would love to see this style more.
