I mean, there are some really fun games out there. I guess some are relatively old, but if you haven't... Blitz the League 1 and 2 are both a *blast* to play. 1 has great team building depth (I mean, it's relatively surface-level, but you choose a coach, O and D co-ordinator, and a trainer, which is something Madden only occasionally has, plus you build your team by adding one of 3 offensive rookies - QB, HB, or WR - and 1 of 3 free agent defenders - DE, ILB, or S), which is pretty fun. And in 2, you get to build your iron-man player, and there's a pretty cool press conference at the beginning where your dialogue choices influence your starting ratings. (Again, not *that* deep, but pretty impressive for an arcade-style football game, IMO... and honestly, if Madden had something like that for their Race for the Heisman/Superstar mode, that'd be a step up, so... comparing something to Madden can easily make you overrate it, but still). And all of the rookie options from Blitz 1, and I think 2 of the free agent defenders, are still in the game on another team. All-Pro Football 2k8 is pretty old by now, but it's a well-crafted game with an intriguing idea. It takes some time to get used to the gameplay, but it's fun and rewarding. I just wish the create-a-player was better. (You get signature skills instead of ratings, but bronze stars get 1, silver 2, and gold 3; that's pathetic compared to the real players. Which is arguably fair, to some degree, but there's some bronze star guys with FIVE skills... only being able to have 3 for a created gold is bullshit. At least 4-3-2 would be nice, or 5-3-2. Although, if I created the game, I'd just go ahead and make it 5-4-3, why not? Oh well.) And then Backbreaker - which he played on his channel - was really intriguing. The learning curve is *steep* because of how weird it is, and the camera-angle takes a lot of getting used to. It makes the game hard, but that's the point; it's not "broken", it's just a thoughtful way of making the game more challenging, but not in a bullshit way. When things click, it's so much more rewarding. Yeah, I guess they're all relatively old by now; I think over a decade for all 3. But that gives me hope that Madden's monopoly on the NFL won't completely stifle creativity in football games.

Love that yo're playing this game! One of my all-time favorite games, proably have close to 2000+ hours in it. Couple of tips as this game is super buggy: - Always save before you play a game. Has a good chance of freezing every time you try to get into a game (tip: if you ever see 4+ notes on the game loading screen. it is probably stuck in a loop and frozen). - Entering a game through supersim basically cuts the chance of freezing by at least 75%. I would always recommend enter the game that way. -Never go above fast on the sim speed. Setting it at fastest always has a chance to cause a crash. - If the audio cuts out, a crash is incoming. Try to save it asap if you have no audio. Don't want to give too much in the way of money plays / draftees, but I will say that running in this game blows, especially counters and draws. Same thing with screens. Also supersimming games gives you at least 2x points for your coach's development over just simming. Playing gives you quite a bit more as well.

@ocbee6175

GAME OBSERVATIONS: Offense: Andre Woodson looked extremely promising, although raw at times with some poor decision making.Looks like the quarterback position should be set for now. Darren McFadden is as good as advertised, and looked explosive out there. The offensive line was horrendous, and left Woodson and McFadden to the wolves on a lot of plays. Definitely needs improvement and quick. Defense: Defensive line struggled to shed blocks and couldn’t get to the quarterback or running back and when they did get to them they would miss the tackle. Needs improvement but Calais Campbell did look promising. Linebacking core was excellent out there, making good tackles and breaking up passes frequently. Secondary was incredible out there, breaking up tons of passes. Revis was exceptional out there. Definitely needs work on finishing plays as there were too many dropped picks. Special Teams: Kicker looked shaky out there, but that can be chalked up to poor weather conditions. Allowed a big return that almost went for six but set the Dolphins up to score. Solid elsewhere.

Drewski I am writing this at the beginning of the episode so if you learn it later, so be it. But these are some tips that could help you out. 1. PLAY KNOWLEDGE IS SUPER IMPORTANT, it determines how well your team can run plays and how effective those plays will be. You can get play knowledge up by using plays in game, practicing plays, or focusing on broad categories. Play knowledge is one of the most important things. 2. 80 overall is supposed to be an average NFL player in this game. So a 75 is a person who should be on the bench and an 85 is a good starter. Basically an 85 in this game is an 80 today. A 75 in this game is a 70 today. 3. By using the scout reports at the beginning of the week gamelan against your opponents strengths a decent bit, or against their weaknesses, if your team already has high play knowledge. Doing so will give you boosts you can activate in the games like better pass coverage or better run blocking. Hope this helps, I'm not sure if you know this already but I figured might help in case you were gonna waste time on unimportant rookies or not train play knowledge. Edit: Stealing Plays is a really effective way of making your playbook more potent and adding plays that work well against defenses your scheme would not otherwise have access to
@J7041-u7m

FYI - You don't need to "create" 10 new plays to complete that goal, you just need to add at least 10 plays to your playbook. They can be from other playbooks.

Andre’ Woodson! Loved that dude in college. Turns out all he needed to make it in the NFL was Drewski.
