A very good cami, I hope it helps this summer! Your kittens probably like the wool mat so much because of the lanolin, which smells like a mother cat producing milk. There's a picture, somewhere on the internet, of a cat up to it's elbows in wool on a live sheep in full kitten mode.
@MaireColclough
6 ай бұрын
I figured it was probably the lanolin. I don't think it's going to get a lot of use until I can build it into the ironing section of my eventual cutting table. And then it may get a cotton topper to keep kittens from scratching and chewing it. Either that or I'll use it when the kittens are locked out of the basement 😁

It's a lovely camisol and the kittens are hilarious. One of my cats ran into my room and vomited on my rug while I watched this. Thank goodness, he might have gotten splash back if he did it on the tile or hardwood floors in every other room. 🙄 I hope the cami helps keep you cool this summer! P.s. don't look at the sun today!

That camisole is very nice. I find it vexing that the larger the pattern size, the more distorted it becomes. Especially around the arms and shoulders. We won't even go into the immediate square it becomes for the body. Human shoulders do not grow at the same rate as what is hanging off of them. If I make something that slides over the apron, I continue to slide right through the neck hole. Sorry, this could become a massive rant. Pink is definitely your color.
@MaireColclough

Mum was right about a few things (like pink, lol)! As I grow more proficient at sewing, I'm finding that the pattern is just the starting point. It's up to me to customize from there. There's a whole video in what I could say about it, I think 😁
@woochles

I hate how pattern grading seems to think the circumference of my neck grows at the same rate as the circumference of my waist as I gain weight. Why the huge neck holes? Also, as you said, shoulders don't actually get wider so bra straps need to stay more centered or they fall down.

I love that color on you. But I see what you mean by how sheer it is. I couldn't get over the kitties being in your space. I can totally relate to the light box. I had mine out the other day lining up pattern pices and had a cat jump up to park her furry butt on it. 😂😂 I love Ellie and Mac patterns. Lindsey is awesome. She tries very hard to be size inculsive. She made a couple of dresses for my duaghter before she started making patterns. Back when she was just doing little girl clothing. I actually have this cami pattern and printed it out with the intention to make it dor my duaghter to go with the jammy pants I made her for Christmas two years ago. In the end it turned out i had over worked myself sewing 5 pairs and getting everything else ready for Christmas. If I don't have to make a bunch of stuff and do a bunch of last minute cleaning, I may try again. Or maybe i will raid the stash and make one gor myself.😉

@@MaireColclough you're telling me! My duaghter is almost 16 now and has been wanting to history bounding to the dances. We did a regency dress from some fabric I pulled from my stash, a full on shelf butt bustle gown and now we are doing a romantic era inspires crinoline gown. The last two we slapped together in a week. This one we have a little more time.we have the majority of the work done just waiting for some hook and eye tape to arrive, becuase I am not sewing that many hooks and eyes in place by hand. I did it once and never again.

My cat also loves wool. Whether it's something I knitted or a wool fabric I'm working with, he goes nuts for it like this too. I wonder if it's the texture or the lanolin smell that wool sometimes has that makes the cats love it so much?
