It'd be cool if you had a version of the eyes that were looking down for drawing. As the model just looking directly at the camera while mimicking the motion of drawing looks a little off. Other than that though this is so cool and I love your art style.

Your model turned out amazing!! I had never heard about SpudTablet before, so I'm definitely adding that to my list of things to add to my future pngtuber endeavors. Maybe in the future, you can possibly add a separate "expression" of your eyes looking down at the tablet while you're drawing! Like a toggle like your other expressions!

I'm glad you liked my tutorial! If you're looking to go down the fully animated route, it might be worth checking out ScottFalco's Toontuber guides. They're in a similar vein to PNGTubers but with fully animated sprites and a different setup. It depends on what you prefer, but both methods are good!

This is amazing! I have been interested in delving into vtuber models for fun, this could be something to try out. A friend of mine keeps pestering me to stream my drawing too, it would be nice to have some kind of avatar if I ever decide to go that route. Your model turned out amazing, I actually like it a lot better than most of the fancy 3d vtuber models I've seen. Something much more charming about the 2d art style.
@Nulvo
4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I think PNGTuber models are a great starting point for getting into VTubing. They're basic, but cheap and easy to set up compared to full VTuber models. Plus you can get a feel for it without investing too much into it. Also I agree, 2D models are more appealing than 3D models in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, there's some amazing 3D models out there, but most of them tend to give me strange uncanny valley vibes.

That's very helpful. Thank you! I'm planning to go back to PNG, so my model fits my lore and content, as my current model, yes its a Vtuber, but not my style (found a cheap one to try it on) and PNG is smth I can do as well, so this video is helpful on what I can use as a lil bit extra setup.

So a difference between Vtuber and Pngtuber is wether you need camera for body track or not?
@Nulvo
4 ай бұрын
Pretty much. PNGTubers don't have face tracking so they aren't as expressive as VTubers, but they're much simpler and easier to set up. Plus they're much cheaper for people to commission compared to VTuber models if they're unable to make their own.

There are way to change the emotions?
@Nulvo
4 ай бұрын
Yes! You can switch emotions with keybinds. You can set them up by clicking on the part you want to show, then scrolling to the bottom where the numbers are, and make sure it only shows up on the number you want it to. For example, if you want a crying emotion, you want to make sure the crying image layers only show up on number 2. Set up number 1 as your default state. Then you can press 2 to switch to crying, and 1 to go back to normal. I'm not very good at explaining things so I hope it made sense!
