I do these joycon shell swaps all the time, realistically you do not need to unplug most of the ribbon cables. It is really difficult to unplug and replug the battery and HD rumble so I just leave those on. The battery and HD rumble adhesive do not matter whatsoever. And the easiest way to remove the triggers is to just twist them off, they haven’t broken like that any time I’ve taken them off, and I’ve done that to one controller multiple times.

Yeah, I was a bit overly cautious with everything and unplugged it all since I was nervous about accidentally pinching/ tearing the little cables. They were so tough to unplug and replug, so I’ll definitely skip that next time. Learned a lot during the process though, so hopefully next time I try this it’ll be a breeze! Thanks for the tip for the triggers as well!

I almost got the dpad version for these, so the next time I definitely want to try that style!
