The room was a bit nicer than before but here are some points to remember when designing a room that small (which is a combined living & bedroom) - Use one wall as an accent wall (w/ the green paint) and paint the rest neutral/ white to make the room feel bigger - Please please REFRAIN from putting shelves above the bed especially if you're gonna put heavy objects on it because it might fall - One way to make the room seem taller is mounting the curtain rod near the ceiling and not just an inch or two above the window - Take into consideration the amount of natural light that gets into the room especially with the headboard that big which actually blocks almost half the window That's all thank you have a great day!! :)

I think makeovers like these really make me appreciate small spaces more since I am used to a room on my own that is a bit more then 200sqm (and I like living in wider spaces) When you live in a big city and your apartment is small, then small changes and use of vertical space can really open up a space. I need a space at least big enough to fit my bed and a yoga man on the floor.

But they're *not* living in a *tiny* apartment! The way Ashley talked about the "tiny space" of 200 sq feet for two people was as if this was the whole flat... But it was just the bedroom - and that's really not even a small bedroom! You can see in some parts of the video, there's at least a hall, a dining /kitchen space and separate bathroom, making the whole apartment a normal size (especially for New York), NOT a "tiny" apartment...

Wow! Ashley, you are an amazing designer with really thoughtful creativity skills. So much I want to say, but one thing very special about you take into consideration that individuals may have contracts for their space. A major plus you emphasise that certain modifications needs a professional, e.g. wall mounting the TV and bicycle. This allows them to live divinely and put their space back when having to vacate. This reminds me of the former HGTV show "FreeStyle" where a room of an apartment or house would have a make-over using ONLY items the owners already had an without spending a dime. A few of them are on KZitem. From all the videos I've watched, the "traditional" iron bed frame/box springs/mattress aren't used any more, at least by younger folk. I first saw it in European videos now the trend is everywhere. Wondering how that old system. This was an impressive transformation of a small space, but one aspect simply is impractical and that's the bed situation. Yes, they can flip the pillows, but there are spaces on either side of the bed. They'll just fall off the bed into the gaps. Also, one person will have to sleep "pinned in" on one side by the headboard and the other person. They can crawl straight down to the bottom, but that's an awkward and tricky thing to do without disturbing your bedmate. It looks great, but I bet they flipped the bed back to its original orientation after a few nights.

Love the videos! It’s great to see great ideas for small spaces!....(p.s. keepsakes are mementos, not “momentos”, that’s “moment” in Spanish :) It’s a cute mix up though since you’re essentially capturing a special moment in time.

Wow...really great ideas. Although the bed flip was a great idea, I didn't see how practical it was for the 2nd person to come off. Good thing you explained it towards the end. 😉
