Finished the stool today. Love it. Works so well for those tasks where sitting is more comfortable. Instructions and video were easy to follow.

That's a simple stylish design Peter, with a nod to the ubiquitous Ikea Bekvam step stool, Importantly it is only splayed back to front so more for sitting than standing on as it would be inclined to tip sideways. I mention this because I built a stool almost exactly these dimensions out of scraps ( and braced diagonally with herringbone straps ) for outside work, and I have to remind myself to be careful not to tip it when I stand on it !
@10MinuteWorkshop

Thanks Andy. Yes, absolutely a sitting design. You can make a standing design, but you mustn't have the seat / top overhang the sides - makes a big difference. 👍

Thanks! I do lots of plans, but as I say in the video, I’m not doing any for this little stool as it’s so simple; I mention the critical dimensions in the video - and the fact that those dimensions are largely up to you - and there’s a free factsheet in the newsletter with the sizes I used written down. I’ll be doing a full set of plans for the folding-step stool when that comes along though! 👍
