@@justtrash8796 no worries! b, boisvert speaks of “a chasm on their watch, their past decapitated and searching blindly for what they can’t find”. this work is set in quarantine, and boisvert is likely speaking on the feeling of being disillusioned with the past and clueless as to what the future holds. they speak of it frankly and hopelessly, like they’re helpless to their state. a, the angel, tells them that they’re “blinded by your own hand, as surely as if you had held the burning wire”, describing that their feeling of helplessness is fueled by their own mindset of self loathing over a circumstance they can’t control. next, the angel says “one thousand decisions, made in the name of a desaturated existence”. this line confounds me a bit, but i take it to refer to a thousand different things boisvert has done during the quarantine period, trying to occupy themselves but failing. the angels final words are “look up from your watch, and tell me when you will grant forgiveness to the one most lacking”. if we go back to the past mention of the watch, we can infer that the angel is telling them to look up from the time lost and the worries of the future and notice the moment. the “one most lacking” is boisvert themselves, having evidently beat themself up about their state in quarantine. the final line in this exchange is from boisvert, saying “when it is deserved”, finalizing their stance that they’ll forgive themself when they “deserve it.”

"A chasm appears upon the face of my watch." Chasm is another word for rift, which would either mean a large fissure in the ground OR a massive damage dealt to friendly relations between two or more entities, though it might be a stretch to suggest that chasm is being used in this regard. Still, this is a series about mental health, so the fissure definition doesn't really make sense, even without the mental health context. It is for that reason I feel justified interpreting "chasm" to mean a growing loss of positive feelings. 'The face of' here is possibly the speaker referring to itself in a distant tone? That might be a little contrived, so I could use some help figuring this one out. It could be distant because the speaker is talking about its life from a disconnected viewpoint. Is it dead? Dying? Watch is interesting. It definitely doesn't mean timepiece, so the next logical definition is an act of observation (See the phrase "Not on my watch"). This would further support the idea that the speaker is dead or dying and observing its own memories of the life it lived. 'A chasm appears upon the face of my watch' could mean 'A rift appears as I observe'. The speaker may have witnessed the end of a previously amicable relationship between two or more entities, possibly itself and a perspective/idea/mental state, or even its own existence. If we look at the bible verses, we see that they read as such: 1 Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things." Proverbs 20:11 "Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?" Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Perhaps the "chasm" is the speaker, now an adult, repudiating its childhood self for being what it now considers sinful. "My past decapitated" Now this is a simple one, but very interesting. 'Decapitated', or beheaded, is a little vague, but it might mean exposed or suppressed in this context. Now that the speaker can observe its past with the benefit of hindsight, it can judge itself with the full scope of understanding, which takes us to the Angel's question. Stick a fork in this paragraph, we'll come back to it. "I search blindly for what I will not find." Despite hindsight being 20/20, the speaker is looking for something. Something it can't find in its innocent childhood. But what? Don't worry, it'll make sense before the end of this comment. *The Angel appears* "Blinded by your own hand, as surely as if you had held the burning wire." The Angel holds the speaker responsible for its inability to find what it's looking for. Is it possible the speaker can't find whatever it is because it doesn't want to? Because it's afraid of what will happen if it does? "One thousand decisions made in the name of a desaturated existence." Another word for desaturated is dull. The Angel might be implying that the speaker did not live a particularly interesting life, and every decision it ever made only served to prolong that life or preserve the lifestyle it adhered to. "Look up from your watch and tell me when you will grant forgiveness to the one most lacking." I believe the Angel is telling the speaker to stop reflecting upon its life and forgive itself for the things it did that it considers sinful. When the speaker said "I search blindly for what I will not find", I think it's looking for the ability to self-forgive, and it seems to know that because, judging by the line "When it is deserved", it does not seem to believe it deserves forgiveness. In fact, the idea of forgiving itself seems so repulsive that it lashes out at the Angel in anger. The speaker has seemingly reached a point of immense self-loathing for its "sins", and the Angel wants it to confront that self-loathing. The speaker can't, though, because it has become so comfortable in its current mental state that to grant forgiveness to the one most lacking (Itself), to end its self-loathing, is terrifying because on some level, that's all it has. The speaker has become its own self-hatred, and would not know where to go should that self-hatred be taken away or otherwise removed. Anyway, that's my interpretation. Tell me what you think.

I love this channel. Okay, based on what people have inferred and the bible verses, quill god perhaps did something bad in his past, which haunts him whether or not he feels remorse. The angel tells him that he should forgive someone, and this someone is most likely dogtooth, as he attacked quill god. Maybe quill god did something bad to dogtooth in the past? I see dogtooth as a sort of vengeful character while quill god seems angry and distressed. I can only speculate. These videos are fantastic!!!!
@Conminorgod

This one for me is the most confusing but I feel like I can understand it a little bit, in here we see the quilled god describing that there is a chasm on his watch and that he is staring at it, he then says that his past has been decapitated and he searches for what he will not find, i see this as him saying he doesn't remember his past and is looking for it in his watch but to no avail. Then the angel appears and tells him that he must stop looking for his past and grant forgivness to "the one most lacking". I theorize that the one most lacking is room either that or fluffy head guy from "continue?". The quilled god says that he doesn't feel forgivness is deserved then trys to attack the angel but then the angel tells him something he doesn't want to hear as said in the description, possibly causing the quilled god to go mad. Another thing, in the beginning, the bible quotes mostly refrence childhood and sin, so maybe the quilled god committed a sin when he was a child.
@dayotobiusa
2 жыл бұрын
IMHO the Quilled god and most of the other characters (including the Complex itself) are subparts\different aspects of the inside of Room's mind. You can see him being the "Quit" side in [Continue], plus there are a couple passages about him in the "Complex" that make me think he embodies self-criticism\punishment and pessimist thinking. So here, the "one most lacking" is the Quilled god himself. "A chasm appears on my watch, (...) I search blindly for what I will not find" is Quilled god ruminating about the time he wasted \ his mistakes, making "the one most lacking" probably himself. The bible passages tie into this by alluding to not only letting go of "childish" things, but also accepting your sins. The Quilled god did not\could not forgive himself ('When it is deserved') and thus lashed out at the angel. The angel said\did something to him that stopped him, but did not kill\harm him. Then he went on to the [Continue?] video.

Hmmm... I'm gonna try to decode this. [Be aware, there is a lot of text here, I'm busy thinking up a storm here...] The title and the description make a full sentence. If you put them together, you get: "I met a beautiful angel and he told me something I did not want to hear." Sounds like he's in denial of his situation. Time to hypothesise... The spiky-headed dude, who I will name "The Quilled God", as is seen in "The.Complex". He is arguing with this "Angel", and this Angel seems to be calling him out for... some crime? "A chasm appears on the face of my watch." ... I presume the "watch" isn't one of the wristwatches you can get. A watch could also be a protective guard, maybe he was observing something, keeping watch, to say. Chasm- some sort of separation? A literal chasm? His face looks cracked. Maybe he just looks that way, or he was hurt. In "Continue", the dog-headed man stabs him with a tooth-knife. ... Maybe he's already dead. There was a chasm between Dog-head and Quilled God. And he was killed. "Blinded by your own hand"- the Quilled God is ignorant, or is unwilling to see something. "My past decapitated, I search blindly for what I will not find"- clearly there is some form of trauma or conflict he had experienced. He must've done something very wrong to have the Angel argue with him. [Note: This might be just for art's sake, but the Quilled God goes from being a puppet figure, to a computer-drawn one. Is he a proverbial puppet? Is he being used by someone? Is he seeking freedom?] "One thousand decisions made in the name of a desaturated existence." I see the Angel holds no amity toward the Quilled God. He's clearly telling him that what he's doing is useless. "Tell me when you will grant forgiveness to the one most lacking." Now, this line is interesting. The Angel went from berating the Quilled God to asking him when he will forgive someone. Who is this "one most lacking"? Is it a character we know of? Another one we've not seen? The Quilled God answers curtly "When it is deserved". I deduce that he is bitter, and is clearly not ready to forgive "the one most lacking". We then see the Quilled God rush towards the Angel, only for the mouth/eye[?] to open, for the Angel to stare at the Quilled God, his hands freezing in place. As for the whispering, I don't know what it says. Probably gibberish. In the video, when one pauses, you can see several Bible quotes. See below. 1, Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things." The Quilled God is not a child and is clearly a man, and so he is making decisions directly, and is serious. Proverbs 20:11 "Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?" This infers that the Quilled God's actions aren't... pure or upright. He is not unknowingly doing wrong, he is doing it knowingly. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." I finalise that the Quilled God has done something very bad indeed. And thus, the Angel tells him something he didn't want to hear- making him aware of what he did wrong. ... Hmm. What do you think?
@patricksfriendbobthesponge8256
2 жыл бұрын
This is a lot more fleshed out than my theory, I really like the format. I think the Quilled God as you called them is definitely a god from what the "angel" talks about. I related this more between the relationship of a generic non-specific god and their home-made subjects, but I haven't indulged in many of _Boisvert's other videos yet. Great comment in my opinion!

I'm not much of a theorist, but this video is too good to just ignore. From all the bible verses, I think the figure with the melted or runny eyes is representing a god. They stare at their watch (maybe representing his fixated mindset and harsh consequences, I don't quite know. Could also represent the Earth.) and an unknown source basically accuses them of being unforgiving to the unfortunate (which could be humanity, or even themself since they may force themselves to perfection) . The start of the video can be brushed off to just be unsettling, but I think it may represent humanity, or the figure's (who we see later in the video) thoughts. Although, the bible verses at the start have a theme of childhood and sin. The runny eyes figure might have punished the first puppet we see at the start of the video for being too childish (which could represent humanity or maybe a specific person? The puppet is also portrayed as smaller than the runny eyes figure, but that could just be to show the figure's superiority over the puppet.) Then the figure finds a chasm upon their watch (the watch possibly being the earth?) and searches for something they will not find as their past is decapitated. I can't really assume anything in this part, it might be talking about man's flaws and trying to find better more improved subjects. Then the mouth, or unknown source shames him. The mouth could be humanity, his own thoughts, or something else. The mouth's accusations really support my theory that the figure is some form of god. Then the figure responds dismissing the mouth that "those lacking" will be forgiven "when it is deserved". Then, the figure silences the mouth, which still supports my theory that the mouth is either humanity or the figure themself. Thanks for reading my random and long theory! I think I put more effort into this than any literary assessment essay I've had haha

judging by the bible quotes and the dialogue, this seems to be about the endless passing of time and the hopelessness that comes with realizing you can never stop time, wishing to go back to the days of childhood but knowing you cannot, and instead dragging your feet along your dreary existence in hope of something to come along and fix it, while never truly giving yourself a break or letting yourself find peace. constantly thinking about what could’ve been and wanting to return to a time when everything seems endlessly better, and not appreciating or indulging in the then and now.

God the TEETH. This is so peaceful until THOSE TEETH!!! I love the messages behind this, being someone who’s going through a rough depression episode combined with other mental issues. But DAMN IT!! Those TEETH! 😂

i havent left my house except for essentials for probably 9 months now bc i hate my body so much i cant bring myself to let people look at me, i started transitioning around 4 months ago but realistically ik its no use. im sure this isnt what the videos about but some of the lines were so accurate it was creepy. my self hatred is so intense that i ruined all of my relationships by isolating myself, but without a way forward im even more depressed and anxious than before. i barely eat all i have the energy to do is browse the internet and lay in bed all day. the only reason im still alive is bc i have family that care about me but its only getting harder. sorry for dumping but its cathartic, and ig that's the reason i feel so much emotion watching these videos... thanks for making this content, i think its really special.

John 10: 28-30 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will be able to snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; and no one can snatch them out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one.
