That's cool. I've been falling in love with them. Not replacing the '56 Chevy though.

Grille (vertical) and parking lights (amber) say its a 63. Read the tag on the driver's door frame above the lower hinge. The white is called Frost White. Up here I would have given $500 - $600 max for that car. I have a trunk lid and a door for you: they are west of Tulsa. Given the windows, guessing your under hood surprise is an AC unit or perhaps the WCD 2 bbl carburetor...

I don't remember if I said what I paid in the video & I don't remember what I paid but it was either $500 or $600. I'll have to keep the body parts in mind. You're spot on it's an AC unit. Haven't even seen the carburetor yet. You strike again.

I've seen Ramblers like that. My dad had a 1963 Rambler Classic back in 1973. It looked completely different. More like a regular car. 4 door, light green with a white top, V8 engine, and a three on the tree. I learned to drive in it. Unfortunately it's pretty much impossible to find parts for these old Ramblers, or any American Motors car anymore. Studebaker parts are a lot easier to find. I had a 1975 Ford F250 2 wheel drive with a 390/four barrel and a C6 transmission, and a utility tool box bed on it I bought back in 2005, and kept till 2012. It got just under 8 mpg, not towing a trailer. I don't know how much gas costs right now where your at, but it's $5 a gallon where I am, and that trip would have cost me $83 in gas with the mileage you got.

I know. I've been striking out on finding some parts I need. That Ford you had was a good setup. It's not $5 where I am but I know about those high gas prices. I was stationed in California in the military & it was $4-$5 there over 10 years ago. Thanks for sharing the car stories. I love it.

That’s a good tip. Thanks. The tail lights lenses are missing. They could be in the car though. We’ll see in future videos. The car should be a 61-63. I intentionally didn’t look it over much when I bought it so I could be surprised about discoveries along side everyone watching the videos.

I have that same car in my garage, bought it 30 years ago for I think 400 bucks. Haven't done anything with it yet. But yeah, they way they stamped that body oil cannnig of the sheet metal is a definite thing to contend with, especially the roof and hood.

Are you referring to how difficult it would be to remove the dents?
@dalesworld1308

@@freemansgarageextra No, I just mean that the roof and hood and doors are woefully undersupported. Some more body lines stamped in might have made those panels stronger.

My daughter says it also looks like bread because of the brown rust with the white paint. I thought that was pretty smart.
